Hey! it's currently over half full.. I keep my Origin, Ubisoft, Blizzard & Steam libraries there, as well as my whole life's applications for Mac & PC, emulation, music, Sci-Fi video collection and photo collection, this system's storage is shared across my multi room intelNUC media network, it's also saving the HD video from my home surveillance system which overwrites after a month. Keeping it all in one place makes for quick and easy access as well being simple to backup with an online service as only one system remains on during backups. The other handy thing is when working on other systems its somewhere large enough to dump mostly anything onto quickly when needed.
Probably will double up to 16TB in a couple of years ;)
Thank you, I wish the little plastic cable tidy clips were white and there were more of them.. I may change them if I find some alternatives
Yes the fans are keeping it nice and cool, i'm not overclocking mind you, they are very quiet in my opinion. The cable management worked very well for me, I do have just the twin HDD's and only one graphics card though, I imagine it being much more difficult with any additional cables
CPU temps are fine, i'm not overclocking anything in this system, I plan to keep it stock. I have ran OCCT for 5 mins and the CPU max temp was 61C with the Noctua Cooler not being any louder
Yeah, been looking at them, and the Platinum ones, also I see there are PSU which have driver control now so am researching more.. Seasonic seem to be well thought of..
I have noticed that Windows installed quicker, I also have definitely noticed my regular virus scan completes quicker.. for me it was worth it as my SSD had had a lot of use so I felt it a worthwhile move
I'm waiting a couple of weeks as the 8700K is available, does mean I'll have to change MB as well, but the new board I have in mind has 3 M.2 ports so I may go fully M.2 and no HDD...hmmm speedy
Thanks for the comments so far. The CPU is only staying a short while, the reason I didn't up it to the 7700K is I'm waiting for the 8700K which is available in 2 weeks, and a new MB to match.
The hop I made to the M.2 was from a Samsung 840 EVO SSD so overall performance was already quick, but has gone from max of 600mpbs to around 3000mpbs, I can honestly say I have never had Windows install as quickly!. have since modified the twin 4TB Gold drive to run on Raid 0 instead of 1, I have regular back up strategy so decided to opt for big storage and speed :)
I like the white theme, very nice, you got it just right
Nice ill l00king beast you got there.. the Corsair cases are great to build with eh ;)
Nicely done, i like it!
Well done for getting that all in!
