Does DOOM hit 144hz?
No prob, let me know if that works?
Make sure you update your motherboards BIOS to the latest revision, the new AGESA microcode is out and that will likely help you run it at full speed if not higher. https://www.asrock.com/MB/AMD/X370%20Killer%20SLIac/index.asp#BIOS that's where to download, according to that page, you have to update it to the 3.50 BIOS and THEN update it to the 4.60 that will give you the new AGESA code. After that's all done your RAM will likely run at higher speeds.
Yep, I'm planning on ordering the boot kit. Problem is, you need the serial number of your exact processor to do so, so I can't until it gets here.
Hello, did you need to update the BIOS for your motherboard to recognize the 2400G? If so, did you need a compatible CPU to update the BIOS? Just wondering because a 2400G is on the way to me and I need to know if I'll have to order a bootkit
Yeah I tried that, my screwdriver didn't fit and I didn't want to try to force it and damage it. It wasn't a huge hassle to take off the shroud but they could have made it a simpler system. Other than that, great card. Also, I remember you haha. I was looking through EVGA GT 1030 builds a while back and yours was the one that confused the hell out of me because it listed a GT 1030 and then every other picture had a different high-end GPU...you own a lot of cards!
I built this like 3+ months ago lol.
Yeah, Vega64 frequently beats the Titan Xp's *** in compute.
That's a horrible idea.
Just spitballing here, but do you like ROG?
Lovely little NAS
Yep. Peace of mind and a solid system. Enjoy your build!
Might be a struggle rewiring, but it's better than having you PC fried
Yeah. Nobody is trying to beat you down or anything, they're genuinely concerned. PSU is one thing you do not ever want to budget on. What size PSUs does the case take? ATX, SFX, or SFX-L?
Awesome! Nice job. As people are saying, Allied PSU's are sketchy as hell. I've heard many stories and seen many reviews telling about how Allied has fried their entire system.
Sweet, I'll check it out!
Thank you. I'm still a little skeptical of the value of low end cards like this, but at 70 bucks it was a good buy. Thanks for the in depth comment!
It's all good dude. No hard feelings
Yes I agree that I wasn't exactly clear as to why a dedicated gpu was preferred, but still, the comment seemed a bit snarky for what he was trying to get across. I don't mind criticism at all.
Thank you! Appreciate it
Yeah! It's a surprisingly capable little card considering it's specs.
Exactly. I was surprised at the negativity, I'm used to people being super friendly.
Yeah. For 80 mils they're way quieter than I thought and push some good air!
Surprisingly, this a capable little gaming gpu
He wants to do flight simulators.
Thanks! Appreciate it
Yeah, because he's going to be doing GTA on a 1030. Read the previous comments AND the description where I explained why. He does things other than email, and this will future proof it. And as for the extra fans not being "need" it's literally two 80mm fans. One intake, one exhaust. Pretty basic buddy.
Its a fun little card
Future proofing mostly. Anything else would have been overkill and he needs a little extra grunt for some stuff he is doing than iGPU can give him. This way, it'll last long into the future.
I put a review for it now
Very. You can only hear it right next to it. Under benchmarking loads o couldn't hear any ramp up from within the case. Great card for the price
Runs a lot cooler too
Whenever I sneeze.
Well, when it's green. But that usually ends up around January.
Oh yeah? Well I have one pixel that changes color every few months. TRY ME.
Those are rookie numbers. 240p10.
What happened? Everything is deleted and theres things about personal attacks... o.o
The only difference with the X versions is that they have auto overclocking. You can manually OC all Ryzen CPUs, but the X versions overclock themselves as high as they can based on the cooling you have.
Yep, for now. Microsoft will hopefully fix the CPU scheduler soon.
There's a scheduler bug in Windows 10 which is causing the lowered performance in games. Basically what is happening is that each core, when using SMT, has 2 threads. One of them has higher priority and more of the processing power, and the other part only comes on when needed in multithreaded workloads. Win10 is reading both threads as having the same priority, and is lowering the performance therefore in workloads that use less threads (i.e. games). So for now turning off SMT when gaming fixes it.
Yup! You can save lots of money by not buying the latest and greatest. The HD7950 for example, is old, but similar in power to a GTX 950.
Thank you! Because of me saving money on this build I'm building a much faster one soon. Vega+Ryzen most likely, with a Ryzen six or eight core CPU and and RX 500 series card.
It was a joke, it's an old 90's term for awesome.
******' tuuuubular dude.
On anything, mostly. I've seen people using all three and getting bad temps. Don't trust my advice on that though if you're making a financial decision haha. I'd do some looking around. Also, consider waiting for Ryzen?
