How does the 1070 do on Star Citizen? I am in the market for an upgrade and that is around my price range. Star Citizen is my primary game right now.

Yeah, that is pretty hot for a computer to be running in. Not sure what options you have but anything cooler might solve your problem.

I wish it was 1440p, 1080p at 27"+ gets a little pixelated.

Could you have your temperatures monitored while you are playing a game? It would be a faulty temp reader so it crashes due to "over heating" even though temps are low. Temps could even be high and that would be a reason for the crashes.

What do you mean by take off? Like get a few thousand views or a few thousands subs in the first few weeks?

I personally just started a channel and posted a video on a pubg fix and got about 400 views and a couple of subs. I'm pretty happy with that as a first video and will build from there. I'm just trying to figure out how you want your channel to be.

If you have a local tech store I'd suggest going to one of them and looking around at some cases and other parts just to get familiar with everything. Also asking around some of the employees will never hurt either because they can answer most of your questions and they, for the most part, know what they are talking about. I am assuming this is your first build so please say something if it isn't but going to a store and really getting know everything will help much more than a website forum. While this forum is great and full of great knowledge, nothing beats seeing everything with your own two eyes.

The ram speed will affect the ryzen cpu quite a lot actually. The 1060 has a slight boost over the 580. This build will no doubt allow you to play all games at 1080p 60fps max settings. Take a look at my build I have on my profile. I can run any game I have on my computer at max 60fps no problem, and its not as good as this.

Alright, here ya go. I know it is pushing your budget but all the parts are well worth it. You want to invest early on so you don't have to spend more replacing broken parts down the line.

For $1300, you could get a very good 1440p pc and probably even a new 1440p monitor. If you want to stick with 1080p, do you want new monitors?

I went for a 650w psu in my build just so I had room to grow into it if I ever wanted to upgrade or add other components. I would just go for at least a 450w is all I was trying to say.

Comment reply on Forum Topic "First Build"

Ok, you need to invest more money in your psu because if that breaks or shorts, it could potentially ruin your whole system. You are also going to need around 550w for a gaming pc once you get your psu. It is alot of investing now so you don't have to pay more in the future.

It is a little above your budget which sucks but I think the parts are worth it. You could always just get 8gb of ram which would then fit your budget and then add another 8gb whenever you want.

Ok, let's see how this looks for ya. This should run all the games listed at 1080p on High at 60, maybe some more demanding games on medium. I do suggest you get more opinions than just me for the best possible build!

AMD is probably the better way for your budget because of their ryzen 5 lineup. I currently have a ryzen 5 1600 for about 6 months and I've had no problems at all.

This is totally doable. I would check to see if you have a MicroCenter nearby because they have great cpu/motherboard bundles that saved me like $50 and price match which is nice.

I'll get to work!

btw, Intel or AMD?
