Man, so sorry for the late reply. I DID consider that, actually! haha. I matched it as much as I could to my Mustang, so I kept them off.
I appreciate it. Agree, as well. haha.
Haha. Thank you very much. Next one will be a Delorean! In my dreams :D
Man, those water coolers take up SPACE. Not sure if I am showing a picture of how my h100v2 fits into that tight-spaced 380t case. Let's just say a compatibility flare popped up on this website. They were right, but I made'r fit :D
Looks great! I watched plenty-o-videos from Jay prior to putting mine together.
Love the Razer-Green theme. I came real close to going with the NZXT H440 Razer edition case before decided I wanted my build inspired from my Mustang. I bet that monitor is sick too! That's my next purchase.
Hey thanks a ton, Bud! I figure us Mustang geeks needed to extend our passion to the PC world. I made a quick video here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=30V_UxyOEX8 Plan on putting out another soon regarding more specs an benchmarks.
and then some! :D
Great build, great look, great name.
Agreed! I only posted my first one last week too. It's motivating to hear good things about it, and I would like to do more one day. :D Keep it up!
Good to know. Now a lot of my friends have messaged me asking about what to build for their kids. 1060 may be the ticket.
Yep. The 1060 is good! I tried to talk my wife into going with it for hers to save cost.
Well, you took my place on the Featured Build slot, but for good reason! Yours looks AWESOME. I think everyone will appreciate your benchmarks on the 1060 too. Well done and congrats on the feature!
No worries on getting the Founder's 1070. It'll work really well. I may have kept everything set to medium/1080p in SC on the 1070, but it still looks great. Getting my HOTAS setup working was a nightmare, but it all came down to my Razer Nostromo wrecking everything. I just unplug it now when I play. Been a while, actually, since I've gotten into SC. I need to refresh myself soon. Maybe I'll try to upload a video of how it plays soon.
Have fun putting everything together! Can't wait to see it when done so post the pictures.
Awesome! I know the color; looks great. The 1070 was great for the 8+ months I did have it in this build. Not sure if you favor any particular brand, but I fell into EVGA and utilized the Step Up Program. I'd look it up and see if any of the 1070s are still eligible. Then if within the next 90 days following your purchase if you happen to come across a little more money, you can upgrade and just pay the difference. I definitely would not have a 1080 ti in there right now if EVGA did not have the Step Up program.
Be sure to friend me in SC. We can fly our Mustangs together. :D See you in the Verse!
Thanks for the compliment. Yeah, I just went looking to see it in amazon and I couldn't find it. Done, eh?
Thank you, Shadow. Best gaming platform I've ever had.
Thanks! First name Rhett. Username goes like this: Boba Rhett. Everyone's confused now, right? Haha
Agreed! I came close to purchasing one recently, but with Acer, Asus, and a few others starting to use HDR AND G-SYNC, I'm thinking I'll save up some more....lot more...and I don't have any more junk to sell. Haha!
Looks great! I like the matching white cables.
lol. Pure genius, right?
I live in the South. It's morning. That's moisture.
Nevertheless, I was actually concerned about the humidity getting in through the plastic mesh.
Oh yeah, a smaller badge over the Corsair logo might work.
Actually, no! I upgraded the graphics card twice so the return of overclocking has yet to be desired for me. There's another $50 I probably could have hung on to. Though I'm sure I'll soon get the itch and give it a shot. :D
Thanks, Buddy! I had a vision when I first wanted to do it, and I was thrilled that it turned out as well as it did.
Thanks for checking it out! The fan has a manual switch on the front of the case that I never bother adjusting. I leave it set to "Quiet" mode on the Corsair Link application too. I just added a picture of the temps at idle. So you don't have hunt down the image among all 118:
-i5 Cores 1 through 4 are fluctuating by the second min/maxed at 75°/92°
-2.5" SSD: 86°F, 2.5" HDD: 87.8°F, M.2: 89.6°F
-GTX 1080 Ti: 77°F @1100rpm (remember, just idling)
-Hv100 v2 cooler: 84.4°F at 960rpm (fan) and 1800rpm (pump)
I'll try to get one in down the line when it's running a graphics intense game. While gaming laptops try their best to breathe and stay cool, I really can not imagine they would come close to the air flow I've got going through this rig. The case is essentially open everywhere with that plastic mesh - grate, if you will.
Not sure if I can instantly pull a metric up for you regarding the benefits of keeping your OS on a fast separate SSD. In short, a few benefits are buying a smaller faster hard drive like an SSD for price. I didn't realize I could have gone with a lower capacity SSD, like a 120GB, and save a little money. Having your C: dedicated to the OS, drivers, etc. is the way to go. Also nice to just have a separate drive for media, games...
Definitely thought about it. It's where the intake fan is so I'd rather get something for the other side below the CPU cooler fans. Those badges are pretty cheap on eBay. Guess that now she's a star I should give it some symmetry with respect to logos.
:/ Well, THAT is frightening. Thanks for the heads up, Bud.
Couldn't remember if I saw that the 7700k had a different socket. Gtg!
Got it :D
As a matter of fact, I do. :D
I had to go back in my saved files to get the ones from when I built it last year. My hope is that if anyone else builds something in the 380T, they can see how tight the fit is. The cooler was about as snug as it could be without me giving up. The website warned me those two may not be compatible.
Man, that means a ton to me! Thank you.
I need to give it a try. Unfortunately, my personal display is only 1080p. However, my wife has a 144hz 1440p that may be seeing a test run soon :D
I remember seeing that one when I was shopping last year. Maybe I'll call it the Mustang GTx 1080 Ti
Technically, the car's the 4.6L, but I'll call the computer a Five-oh. Haha!
Thanks for the comment.
I know, right?! I've only been a member of the website for about a year. Is this normal?
Don't you hate when that happens? My wife and kids want Job Simulator, which sounds like the G-Rated version of Rick and Morty. I recently bought Robinson: The Journey. While there is not a lot of gameplay there, it is visual worth getting. Great immersion. Cry engine rocks in VR. Too bad Crytek is throwing in the towel on developing.
lol. No not yet. On the list!
Thanks for the tip. I have to agree that I do not see a problem currently with bottlenecking - though I have not done a whole lot in the way of benchmarks. I've thrown a lot at it with no complaints. I super sample everything in VR by at least 1.5.
Wow. That means a lot, Bud. Thank you very much.
Thanks for taking the time to write that, Bud. Hope it helps others reading this. A buddy I work with told me his i5-6600k worked great with this 980 ti. He recommended the same, at that time when I was purchasing, the 980 ti was the big one under the Titan.
Probably does. Perhaps one more upgrade is in the cards...
Yeah, truthfully, it was hard to part with most of it. Classic video games, comics, books, iPad (actually, that one was surprisingly easy to say goodbye to).
Haha. I like it.
Thanks, Bud! Yep, I see your avatar there. Nice. What model are you driving? This is my fourth Mustang I have ever owned, but it's my first V8.
Star Citizen has improved a good bit - either that or this PC kicks the crud out of my last one when I pledged last year...probably both. Well if you have haven't bought into it yet and you think about it, please use my referral code! Thanks. STAR-5V2Y-2D9J
...that's what my wife says too :/
