I installed it on the top. Push configuration. I took out the optical drive bracket. The cooler is awesome btw. I have 2x 140mm fans in the front and one 140mm in back with the cooler on top. You still may be able to keep the optical bracket but it would be close. I didn't bother since an optical drive wasn't in my plans. Although, I would like to have the option. Let me know if it works if you try it.
Nice build. I have that same Lego man in blue from an old Space shuttle set I had when I was younger. That cooler looks nice in there, although it takes up a lot of room.
Yeah I saw the cuts you had made to get around the tabs and figured it helps with bubbling. I have the same issues with thermal labeling with the bubbling and figured the vinyl wouldn't be much different. I found some Metro silver wrap for $8 a sheet for 24in x 48in on Amazon. Looks like that's a decent price for that size. Appreciate the info. I love the carbon fiber look on pretty much everything. Cars, PC's, bikes, etc. I can't wait to get this done. Phanteks Enthoo Pro M Acrylic btw
Well I just made a mess in my pants. Unbelievably well done. +1 + Infinity
Does the carbon wrap have an adhesive backing? Or is it an epoxy/glue you have to use? Also, is it hard to smooth out around corners, bumps, etc. Thinking about adding some silver carbon wrap to my build as I have the MSI X Power Titanium MB and GTX 1070 Quicksilver =) Any input would be helpful. Thanks and again gratz on the win and epic build. Now off to get new pants. I'll send you the bill =)
Wow. Just .... Wow. So clean. Great color. Great photos. Wish I could up-vote spam this =) Only thing I would have done differently is get better than DDR4 -2400.
I stand corrected . Thank you for the info. Good to know the 6800k is just a viable for SLI. O thought the 6850k or better was the better option to maximize the SLI potential. Appreciate it.
Sweet. It worked =P Plan on putting in some ML140 Red LED's on cooler and case, and a 1TB 850 EVO 2.5" SSD for mass storage along with new cables... and maybe a Hue+ /muahahaha
The 6800k has 28 lanes I believe. You would want the 6850k w/ 40 lanes to get the full benefit from the SLI. Correct me if I am wrong. Nice color scheme =)
The computer is impressive, but the desk beats it. That mounting set up is ridiculous. Cable management = win. What mount is that for your monitors? I love craftsmanship! This has it 10 fold. Well done. Gave me like 3-4 ideas for my desk ( I would like to build a custom one myself ) There's not many desks I like out there. +1k if I could
Great build. I am most impressed as your explanation as to why you chose to go with the 6700k and not the Haswell or Broadwell CPU for the xtra lanes as you did not need them with the single GPU. Gratz on the feature.
Very nice. But with all the money you spent, why not go with 2x 1080's? Granted it's $400-$500 more, but seeing as you spent almost $10k, it's not an incredible cost increase. Or do you plan on upgrading to 1080ti's in the future? Although 2x 1070's are more than enough... for now =) I love the set up and the name. EKWB ftw!
Nice to see a different color scheme. Variety is the spice of life. My new computer will be red/black or red/white since I like MSi so much, but I may get some paint and go to town on an alternate color. My fave color is cobalt blue.
+10k for the Painting, Delid, and Cable Management. Some of the best modding I've seen on PCPP. Well done. Great use of the clips for your cable bundling =)
That monitor I hear is awesome. Good call on X99 for Broadwell-E ( That's my plan as well ). Only thing I would do differently is HTC Vive for the 2 "extra sensors" and I may SLI two GTX 1070's instead of one GTX 1080 ( part price for a non-Founder's 1070 I believe is $379? ). I have a friend with a Vive and he says it's better, although I'm just taking his word for it and I'm not sure if he has used the Oculus. I'm curious to see how much more performance, if any, 2x 1070's will give compared to one 1080. Well done overall =)
I love seeing builds with this case. It's what I am probably going with, maybe in white. This is going to be incredible with a 1070 or 1080. How is the keyboard? I hear great things about it. I'm think about getting one myself and a Logitech G502 ( although I may go with a G602 for the wireless )when I build my new comp with one of the new GTX's. Also, how is the cable management and airflow in the 760T? Well done.
I would go with 2x 1080's when they come out, cheaper and better obviously, but other than that this is a nice build. Avexir ROG Ram is overpriced but like he said, price isn't a factor, and the aesthetics are top notch. Could go with 64g of GSkill Red Ram with better than 2666 or Corsair Dominator, but again the Avexir is the best looking and 64g is way overkill. This case is gorgeous, but how is the cable management/airflow?
Wow, just Wow. This is one of the best looking builds I have seen and the cable management is superb. That being said the airflow looks to be not so good considering it's am almost $400 case (At least it could have more room for liquid cooling like you said) I love the color choice and everything else about this. If Lian-Li made few tweaks to that case ( better air flow and/or room for liquid cooling that case would be the best I have seen based on looks and cable management. Great build. If I can get my next build half as good looking as yours (w/ some airflow) then I would happy as hell.
Hey Philip. Who is spamming the same content? I see there is a bunch of comments deleted. Hope you guys dont think it was me. I take it he has been spamming on others builds as well?
The SSD that I had put on my build no longer has a price. What should I do? Put one in with a price? Or leave it? I don't want to get disqualified and I don't want to leave out an SSD.
Yeah. This is my one regret in the build. Well that and possibly going with a 1 or 2TB 7200rpm and a bigger SSD if I could keep the price down. Live and learn.
Yeah. For the price though I went with the Crossfire since two 390's outperforms the 980Ti. I agree a 980Ti would be ideal especially when the price drops and I could SLI two 980Ti's. I would probably add some more cooling to counteract the increased power consumption/heat that the AMD has along with Afterburner to optimize the fan cooling on the cards. If I could afford a second card in the future I would have gone with a 980Ti. I also have had 2 Nvidia burn out on me and haven't had that happen with my current AMD.
Thanks for the feedback. 980Ti seems to be the most used card atm.
That's what I thought when I built mine. I'm thinking going either way would work out well, but 980Ti would be better in the long run due to power consumption and would be better SLI vs Crossfire once the price drops on the 980Ti and add a second one. Thanks again
Thanks. So going with a single 980Ti right now until the price drops , then SLI another in after the drop, like Kyle said, is probably the way to go currently? Yeah I don't want to underclock. As long as the games I play support Crossfire and I have the proper cooling for the power consumption/heat issue, the dual 390's should be better currently than a single 980Ti or will I get a better experience out of the 980?
Thank you. My other concern is the fact I have had Nvidia cards in the past. Both times I had one they "broke". The last one being a 580 Ti. I haven't had any suck issues with AMD. Maybe it's just my luck.
