Just what I was looking for, thanks. Trying to go as cheap as I can but with the $60 gap I might buy an I5.

Great build, nice blue color scheme.

Love the Define S, I've been thinking of doing a white themed hardline build in it.

+1

Yes, the video card is compatible with your current motherboard.

I live in State College. Sadly I don't have any video cards, I went and picked up a 290 after my HD 7770 GHz edition. I also don't know anything about that case, but Bitfenix is known to make some quality cases, from reviews, and experience.

If you're only going to be doing gaming, the 16gb of memory and the 4790k are useless. An i5 and 8gb of memory is more than enough for gaming.

The Xeon has hyperthreading like an i7 but at a fraction of the price. The only thing you sacrifice is the ability to overclock.

Comment reply on Forum Topic "First attempt building a PC, constructive feedback appreciated."

First off, I would switch the CPU to a Xeon E3 1231 (hyper-threading like an i7 but no overclockability). Get rid of the CPU cooler since you can't overclock the CPU. Switch the MB to a Z87 if you want to take advantage of SLI, or an h97 if you don't care about SLI (remember to read reviews). Also, you could get a cheaper PSU but swap out the PSU for an EVGA G2 750W.

Comment reply on Forum Topic "A $3200 X99 build, is it okay?"

Do you have proof that Seagate HDDs fail very often? If not your point about swapping the HDD is invalid. Also "muh reliability." What does that even mean. If you maintain your loop, and drain it every 6 months (what I recommend if you're using kill coil, etc) and you take the effort to plan it out, it looks cool, and you get better temps.

For once I agree with your PSU decision. Oh yeah Lambda, don't think you would see this but maybe no one has time to write a review on it because they're enjoying their new budget PC.
