This is actually pretty balanced. I'go for this one .
Great build as always Sam. Btw did you find any incovenients with the H236HLbid?
Wow, what a terrebly mistake I've made. I am so sorry.
Oh man! what a badass present you got! I would have started the post inmediately with some bragging about that gift If I were you!. If your family needs another pc-lover in their team, please contact me :3
Sorry! That's what I meant , yeah :))
Hello! I strongly recommend you this build
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant
The Xeon E3 1231 V3, Haswell-R, priced as an I5, performs like a i7 without having to overclock! CPU Cooler is up to you, but expect to see lower temperatures even with the stock fan, as it doesn't have integrated graphics and might run cooler.
16 GB of sweet DDR3 Blue RAM
Inexpensive motherboard with a h97M from the best Brand for budget motherboards
250 GB of SSD, instead of just 120 gb, a lot of more space
Extra 1TB for all the light stuff
Asus 970, the best 970 out there for the price
Arc MIni R2, DUST FILTERS! Everywhere! 3 included fans!
750w semi-modular PSU, and don't worry. EVGA makes some good and reliable psu's
GOOD LUCK! :))
As trickkynickk I strongly recommend going for the Xeon 1231 V3, is priced like an i5 , but performs like an i7 without having to overclock.
-I changed the motherboard as there's no need for a z97 chipset and therefore money can be saved
- I changed the RAM to get you a dual-channel kit. So you don't have to worry later on.
- Changed video card to a 970 which is worth getting no matter what others say.
- Eliminated the DVD-R , because who needs those nowadays?
I understand why you chose not overclock and in my humble opinion is the best way to go for level headed gamers. But if one were going to spend one hundred bucks in a cooler that is mostly for looks, one should have choosen the cheaper model atleast like the x31 or x61 120mm.
Congrats on your first build
"Its an ugly build but it has a special place in my heart, hence the name." Should be called Scarlett Johansson IMO +1
High standards... +1000
I was going to swap the Arc Mini 2 to an Air 240, But that characteristic particularly made me stick to Fractal Design. I seccond you
Philip, so I changed my avatar
I don't know but I really enjoyed reading that description. Great camera work and awesome pc
I'd wait to see what does the r9 380/390x has to offer though, with all of this 3.5 gb +.5gb issue and the fact we don't know if games will take more Vram in the future I am hesistating on the 970
I just simple love that cpu, even though your case cost twice as much as it
I am surprised this build hasn't been deleted yet, (piratebay wallpapers)

You can see in the bottom pci-e lane the nzxt led card
Efficient and sleek +1 , 11/10 made me hornier than 50 shades
indeed, it's pretty, too bad in a small case can't really pop up , looks nice anyway
Awesome paint work, but why did you pick that overpriced EVGA motherboard, I'd guess it was for its black colors, but one would have guessed that you wouldn't see the motherboard through all those componenets anyway. That's why I tend to pick cheaper ones from Asrock
Does the r9 290's crossfire run as hot a they say?
Badass cpu cooler +1
Yes I just fell in love with it, I am very tempted to get one those 120mm rads, but depending of my final budget, I'll end up getting a 212 probably, but If not will give them a try.
Stunning isn't it? I hope you see my build soon, thanks for everything
Many thanks for your response, I got the 212 on mind, but I strangely feel I don't like the way it looks, I also looking into the H5 and H7 from cyrorig, I also thought about the H100i, and you're right there's no need.
As for the fans, purely aesthetics, I really like the Arc Mini, all dust-proof with excelent airflow however it's got a smoked window side panel, and indeed it does come with fans but there's actually 3 fans (2 x 120, on top and rear, and one 140mm on top), So i'd be wasting one fan, I'll remove both drive cages, and buy a 5.25 bracket, I have that for sure, wheter I go stock or the corsairs'.
I liked the look of them on this, It adds an $35 "luxury" but you get more airflow, Do you think I should use a nzxt led strip ionstead? I don't like the way it looks plugged into the pci slot, that's my only con, let me know what you think.
And thanks for the ram, it's awesome and I didn't know about the avaliaty of that pack.
Couldn't agree more with you jaredt, I do plan using a 1231-V3 not only for the price, because It's of my understanding overclocking does reduce your cpu's lifespan, do you think using a mid-high end air/water cooling device is needed If I want my Xeon chilly and to last longer? Feel free to critize my intended part list
Very professional work. What are you doing beside playing on 1440p?
It's of my understanding his son built the pc, and the submitter "helped" installing the CPU, but the PC is mostly going to be used by both , father and son don't get me wrong but I am sure OP's son will be a great computer cience engineer.
Club penguin master race
Awesome sleeved cables! they really tune the build! where did you get them? Also I think the 212 should face the other side to get direct air from the front fans +1
WOW. It's so tiny +1
Awesome deals! I am just jeaolus of you, getting 16 gigs for $100. Also what are your peripherals?
That's bad :( I'd really like to put my hands on a cyrorig cooler, thank you and i hope to see the new photos soon!. Happy building!
What did you oder, the CRYORIG C1 65.0 CFM or the Noctua? I really like the design of the Cyrorig

Spanish subtitles, hola?
Awesome I've heard good stuff about the 270x, why did you add another 8gb? Does it make a noticeable improvement in your system?
Awesome how does it feel now?
9gag master race.
So, banana for scale? Welcome home dear 9brother
That description is not describing anyhting at all. -1
It speaks for itself, you really outdid yourself +1
Awesome man! +1
Thanks, hopefully i'll get one soon ,and what about the motherboard? can you explain me the proces to connect the 2 extra fans ? Many thanks
How do you like the motherboard? and why is the EVO so damn cheap! +1
Hey! remember locked procesors can't be overclocked, you're welcome :)
Hey I've got a question about rebates, when Newegg for example list their price 10 cheap, it means it is 10 bucks off? or they hand me te money back
