Has pretty good overclocking capabilities. The overall looking and the LED fits my build fairly well. BIOS interface does look a little outdated.

Works as advertised. Ports have a solid feel to them. BIOS interface is intuitive and make overclocking easy. Settings are easy to find.

Think of this board as the poor man's Maximus VIII Gene, since it's about the cheapest SLI-capable mATX Z170 board out there. Great onboard audio solution (more important at smaller form factors, since you may not be able to just pop in a sound card).
OCs well - my 6600K is happily humming along at 4.4GHz and it picked up the RAM's XMP profile immediately. While the UEFI is a bit retro looking, it's easily navigated and things are where you'd expect them to be.
The board is definitely picky about RAM, so look at Gigabyte's QVL list before buying.
Good looks paired with a pleasantly rational layout and an amusing glowing LED trace. I also appreciate the heatsinks around the CPU socket not being ridiculously huge, since I still love big air coolers.

Tons of customization options in the BIOS. The only installation problems I ran into were most likely case-related and not related to the motherboard (had a hard time getting it in (that's what she said), haven't figured out the right configuation for the reset button LED). Compatibility-wise, I quickly discovered that the stock kernel for Linux Mint 17.3 has no support for the motherboard audio codec (Realtek ALC1150), but an upgrade to a more recent kernel fixed that problem.

Extremely full featured mATX board, as well as one of the nicest looking motherboards I've ever laid eyes on. The HOTS box is a little bit gimmicky though.

Excellent motherboard. Allowed me to quickly and easily XMP my RAM and overclock my CPU.
Being a mATX mobo as well, it allows me to possibly get a second video card while still retaining a small form factor.

Great quality and durability for an amazing price. I was extremely impressed with the price along with all the features it includes. I'm the above average gamer and it has plenty of ports/slots for what you need. Easy to use, BIOS is relatively easy to navigate. Can't go wrong for the price and overclocking capability.

I wanted a mATX board with on-board audio that could replace my ASUS DG sound card. I’ve used a half-dozen Gigabyte boards, and their QC is top-notch. This board is no exception, with quality capacitors, heat sinks, and board work. I've been especially please with the BIOS, which is light years ahead of my previous Gigabyte P43 (LGA775) chipset board.

I originally ordered the B150 Bazooka from MSI but later learned I cannot overclock my i7 6700k cpu with that board. I did some research and discovered the Gigabyte Z170MX Gaming 5 mobo that fit perfectly in my Thermaltake Core V21 case and has plenty of USB 3 ports and even USB-c

Good well rounded motherboard, first brought to my attention reading manirelli's Excellent Gaming Build Guide on pcpartpicker. Only has 3 fan controllers but I plan to put a fan hub in so no problems there.
