I gave it 4 stars because there is only a cpu fan header and one system fan header. The case I bought only came with one fan and I'm not overclocking so it won't be an issue for me, but if I was going to use this as a gaming rig I would want more fan headers.
This is my first true personal ITX board. I've learned a few things. Like the lack of fan headers and cramped board space. Like I said if i had known I was not going to need an ITX board (or if i would have measured the other case) I would have went with a cheaper option. I picked this because I wanted a 400 series. I have no other AM4 chips if I had ordered a 300 series and needed an upgrade it would have fallen out of my time frame. It's a great little ITX board to work on though. no real complaints outside of the form factor restrictions. Given the need, I would still buy this again for future builds.
Edit: In regards to the XMP setting and my DDR4-3000 ram. I had to go in and set it manually. I only had 2 options and they were both under 3000. It wasn't that hard to set manually and the numbers are on a sticker on the card.
MSI have outdone themselves again. The Mini-ITX mobo was everything that I was looking for such as the PCI Express Steel Armour Slot for a stronger hold on the Graphics Card. Core boost technology for higher performance and Turbo M.2 for faster transfer of data. The Turbo M.2 is almost 7X faster than SSD.
Great build quality and an easy to follow BIOS. Only complaint would be the lack of a second case fan header and the location of the front I/O and audio headers(they're right above the GPU slot).
Most advanced mobo I've ever used (also the first one I've bought that is specifically advertised for gaming). Excellent fan control options. Includes Bluetooth and Wifi which is awesome!
I've heard that MSI has really bad customer service with their motherboards so I bought the in store replacement plan from Memory Express. This motherboard lacks a lot of features compared to my previous ATX motherboards but it makes up for it in it's SFF. I wish it had USB-C and another fan header though. :(
