Reads and writes Blu-Rays and DVDs. Great for backing up your movies to Plex.

Just so I could use the OEM disk to install Windows and the Blu-Ray option was nice.

from completed build From zero to hero... hopefully

I'm only getting 2x blu-ray read speeds for rips which is disappointing. I don't know if it's the drive or motherboard but others complain about it too.

Great drive: a little noisy, but works perfectly without any problems. This drive is OEM, and doesn't come with any cables or software; but, my motherboard came with extra SATA cables, and I already had the software bundle from an earlier purchased external LG Super Multi Blue drive. Though it can't play or write Blu-Rays without the additional software, I had no problem using it to install Windows 7 and play and write DVDs straight out of its packaging. It does what it's supposed to do... but for my build I wish the indicator light was red.

As with most optical drives these days, there isn't much to say. It does what it says on the box. Noise levels are acceptable. No issues.

This blu-ray burner has followed me around for a while now. I believe it's in it's 4th computer at this point? It's solid, works well, and is cheap.

I wanted a blu-ray player for my pc. If I was going to have a 4k monitor, I might as well buy the things that use it. Only downside is, it doesn't come with blu-ray software, but I will cross that bridge when it comes to it.

A little loud here and there, but it does what I want, (I haven't used the blu-ray feature because I have to get a separate program for it).

Old drive that I'm transferring at some point to the new build. Prefer an interior optical drive to using an external for my purposes. Nothing much to say other than that. I don't expect many people to be in the market for optical drives in 2018.
