A feel good cpu that's cheap, fast and low power. Good IO once windows installs the proper drivers.

Really fast CPU. With a GTX 1060 6GB, I'm getting really high fps in all the games I've played on my PC.

A suitable mid range processor to enter coffee lake. Was thinking between this and a i5-7500 processor but thought this would be more futureproof.

Intel Core i5-8400 For a 65W Chip this is truly amazing. It nearly keeps up with my 140W 5820K Chip and the iGPU will playback 4K after a bit of tinkering to get it setup with Linux. It also Mines AEON at nearly the rate of my 5820K, Cost Less, and burns way less power. Only thing I can knock on this chip is the temps run about 10 Degrees higher than any other Chip in the House due to the Poor Thermal Interface Material (TIM) that Intel used under the Integrated Heat Spreader (IHS). It operates well within normal range though, so no throttling occurs, just warmer than others with better TIM. Only solution for the temp would be to De-Lid the Chip, apply a better TIM (or Liquid Metal), place the IHS back on and watch the temp drop 10 Degrees or More. Glad I did get the Locked 65W though, the Unlocked K series with a higher TDP may have heat issues because of the stock TIM quality.

Definitely better than the 7th gen i7 and is very good for games and day to day apps, best budget / performance ratio

Great for gaming and VR, but it isn't the best for video editing. Its great otherwise.

Awesome performance. With 6 Cores and 6 Threads , this is really fast. With a max turbo speed of 4 GHz i can do any intense task i want to. This is giving me a benchmark of 96 percentile. These are initial days, hope it keeps up.

Great bang for buck processor! Rips through everything asked with ease. 6 cores and turbos up to 4.1 GHz.
