AMD have outdone themselves with Ryzen 7. For $329 I obtained 8 cores and 16 threads for the price of a competing i7-6700K with half the cores and threads. Overclocked the CPU on all cores to 3.7Ghz on the stock cooler to close the single threaded performance gap between the 1700 and the 7700K.
I couldn't be more happy with this CPU, great investment that will serve my needs and last me for the AM4 platforms lifetime.
Awesome CPU. Have yet to really crank it up with gaming and streaming, but I'm confident it can handle my intermediate needs very well.
Solid CPU. My problem is I don't know why it doesn't ever boost to 3.7 like it's supposed to.
Other than that it performs wonderfully
Really good processor for the money, the included cooler doesn't suck and you're able to do some pretty good overclocks on it.
For the price, there's nothing I can really complain about when it comes to its performance. At the moment, the core clock is set to 3.8ghz at 1.325v. Temperatures has not exceeded 65c through stability tests via P95 and Aida64. I may be able to tune the vcore a little better. But for now this will do.
For the tasks I throw at it, so far it hasn't given me any reason to doubt the investment. Whether it's streaming video games or watching movies while playing games, it hasn't given me problems.
This processor was an upgrade from an i5-2400. Even though this is probably overkill for what I need, I love it. I have a stable overclock of 3.7 GHz with minimal increases in watts and thermals at full load. I plan on keeping this chip for a long time.
Amazing processor. Overclocks quite well even with the stock cooler. Price performance is amazing.
The cheapest Ryzen 7 CPU available (and therefore the best price-to-performance ratio you can get, really). Even with the stock heatsink/fan combination it can overclock to at least 1700x speeds.
Would heartily recommend this CPU if you are okay with using a developing platform.
Faster than my i7-5930K in multithreaded tasks at a lower TDP.
No reason to get a 1700x or 1800x in my eyes...
Really smooth experience and a powerhouse.
By far the best value out of the 8 core 16 thread Ryzen chips. I was able to achieve a stable 3.9GHz overclock albeit at a higher that I'd like voltage (being kept cool by a h110i) but not too concerened. With that overclock that makes this chip nearly as good as an 1800x. Really happy with this chip so far. Can't wait to see what happens with more optimization for Ryzen in the future.
