Looking for a $900-$1000 HTPC - Steam Box style machine

Hey guys,

I'm looking to build my own HTPC/Steam Box over the holidays and I wanted some ideas for a good build. I tend to go overboard with my build ideas and end up with something that isn't feasible. Basically, I'm looking for a build that is equal in price to the "high end" build of the Alienware Alpha ($900-$1000), but significantly better in performance and long term potential.

I'll be pairing this with my existing Xbox One for living room gaming and I'm looking for something that will run extremely well at 1080. I'll play a mixture of FPS and RPG games. Also, it'll be housed in my entertainment center, so something with good cooling is necessary. No need to factor in an OS, as I'll use my existing Win 7 license.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

You can probably add a 2TB Hard Drive if you have an extra budget :)
