Video Production and DGV (Designated Gaming Victim)

First, I'd like to say that I really appreciate PCPartPicker and all the information it provides. This feature for getting recommendations is an unexpected and very welcome bonus. Good on all of you who take the time to help out like that.

System I am looking for recommendations on a system that can handle video and audio production, video meetings, and generally allow for multiple applications open and in use at the same time. I want to be able to work with both Adobe Creative Cloud applications and Microsoft Office applications while having a gazillion browser tabs open and streaming music, and then be able to join a Zoom meeting.

I'd also like to do more up-to-date gaming in my usual role as DGV (designated gaming victim) which means I'm that guy whose kills to killed ratio is typically 1:10 hence the designated gaming victim status. I'm fine continuing to play the Half Life 2: Deathmatch because it's a great stress reliever, but I wouldn't mind being able to ply my DGV trade in games like Metro Exodus: Sam's Story.

My Particulars

Budget: USD $800 (excluding peripherals) Location: USA Use (gaming, rendering, etc): Video production and gaming Peripherals required: 2 Monitors (budget $200 each) Operating System: Windows 10 (already have)

I'd like to make it a Ryzen system, but since I'm asking for recommendations, you guys know best. Again, I really appreciate this feature.

With that previous build, the prices have changed (especially with the 2700x which is now $270)

  • Better PMR HDD
  • Better PSU
  • Decent motherboard (with a lower price tag)- it is one of the most recommended
