No Shave November

Nullarc77

Well this is the first year when I can properly partake in the annual tradition of not shaving for a month. I guess I could have last year but it would not have looked good. But now my facial hair is finally growing at a rate where I think I can properly partake. Granted I haven't shaved since early October because I plan on not shaving till I hit my weight loss goal(don't ask, my reasoning doesn't even make sense to me).

So who else here is partaking? And do you plan to keep what you grow?

I personally do plan on keeping whatever I grow for the previously mentioned reason. And I got tired of shaving 2-3 times a week. And wearing out my razors pretty fast. Genetics were not kind to me in the area of shaving.

I don't take part in NSN, but I do take part in NNN.

Get your head out of the gutter! It's No Nonsense November; I cannot tell any lies or goof off when I have more important obligations. It is very challenging.

Somehow i can probably guess the rough context of the comment that was bonked by the staff.

I can guarantee with near 50% certainty, there is a 50% chance that it was exactly what you are thinking.

Easy, I never shave. Have had a beard for the last 20 yeas. Sometimes the wife makes me trim it back so my lips can be revealed, but I won't ever shave it off.

I always have a beard, but I'll just be extra lazy this month on shaving/trimming and if anyone asks I'll cite no shave November as the reason.

I keep a short well kept beard year round. I do grow it out for no-shave but then I take it back down to my normal afterwards.

Tbh mine doesn't look great. It doesn't look horrible. I did have a few weeks head start so I kinda cheated. But this past week it has started to look okay. But I think it will be at least until the end of NSN until it starts to look decent.

I used to wear a beard, wait.... I started shaving when I joined the Army,(17), back then I didn't have to shave cause I had hair but no whiskers. But my Drill Sergeants made everybody shave every day and by the time I reported to my first real unit I had to shave everyday. Then after I got out I decided I wanted a beard and went that way for awhile then shaved then not and back and forth. Then about 3 years or so later I started doing stuff that required I might have to wear a respirator, so no beard, then helitac fire fighter so no beard, then I started turning grey and vanity prevented it, now I shave everyday and don't think about it, I got a whole list of other stuff to worry about besides a beard. I just shave every day except for if I'm not working that day.

My job doesn't allow for facial hair and it would look terrible if I grew anything out so I won't be participating. (I'm 17 btw)

Fair enough. I am also 17 and it took a few weeks for mine to start looking decent. Will be a while before mine looks good. But yeah jobs can be mind of a pain with rules for facial hair.

Not really, I prefer to keep mine clean. Plus, I've never had luck in growing them, really...

Well, I can't even grow a proper beard (I'm already 16 for gods sake), so NSN is irrelevant for me

I got maybe 10 days into one, years ago. Looked in the mirror and it came right off. I suppose if I were willing to let it go for a year or so, it might have evened out, but a beard is way, way down on my must-do list...

I mean, I guess it's a little to late to start now, but even if I had started back when the month began I wouldn't have been able to because my hair's too patchy. Maybe next year it'll look good enough.

I am partaking but I've realized my mustache can do the whole Italian curl thing so I can't wait till December to trim it back.
