Is the 9900k's 200 dollar difference ( Australia pricing is dumb ) compared to the 9700k worth it when we're talking about streaming? I've heard that they're both really good for streaming but I don't know what the real difference is. myProfPic.jpg

As you suspect, performance difference for task at hand is not enough to justify cost.

Have you considered the 2700x? if you have the money by all means for for the I9s but I know from personal experience that the 2700x isn't exactly inept when it comes to multitasking.

Not trying to fanboy of course. Again, if you can afford it, go for the top-tier stuff.

Overall there is only about a 7% difference in performance. For streaming you don't need the 9900k.

Userbenchmark is a garbage comparison

In workloads that actually take advantage of hyperthreading and more threads, you can see 20-40% gains

Make your decision by looking at that review below.

Streaming results is the WHITE bar!

Streaming | I7 9700K vs R7 2700X vs I9 9900K vs I7 8700K |

I think the i7-9700K would be the smarter decision, considering the price difference between these two CPU's.
