I know that there is very little difference between all of these CPUs, but which one should I get? I'm aware of that the i7-9700k doesn't have Hyper-Threading, but it has 8 cores. Here's my build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/zs3dQZ

And here is the pricing for the CPUs (In Norway, turned into dollars):

i7-8700k: 481$ i7-9700k: 497$ i7-8086k: 545$/617$ (The one for 545$ aren't in stock in Norway)

It seems like you are building a gaming PC here and it is going to be an awesome build. To the question of CPU you can rest easy they will all perform similar with gaming. The i7-8086K is the i7-8700K with a larger boost clock and higher base frequency. Overclocked they are identical. Not worth the price if you overclock anyway. Dump the i7-8086K out of the reckoning. Between the 8700K and 9700K, I would probably err towards the 9700K for no reason other than it is newer. 8c/8t vs 6c/12t, for gaming, will hardly matter although some benchmarks seem to indicate the 9700K is slightly faster.

Hell to the no, if you are overclocking you want an 8086k over an 8700k

The top 50% of 8700k became 8086k (give or take), so your chances of getting a good 8700k nowadays are very very slim.

I really doubt that I will be overclocking, and if I will, it probably won't be much of an overclocking.

Okey, I think I'm going with the 9700k then. Thank you!

If you wanna stream, get the i7-9700K.

If you only game, get the i7-8700K or the i7-9700K.

The i7-8086K isn't worth paying $50-60 more. It's just a better i7-8700K.

You may be able to get the i7-8700K easily to 5.0GHz and the 8086K to 5.1GHz perhaps 5.2GHz.

If you de-lid the 8086K you may be able to push it further, but hat applies to the i7-8700K as well.

So i don't see the reason...why someone should buy an 8086K for a 200MHz higher overclock.

I basically only game, like 15 hours a day on a weekend, but I'm planning on starting to stream soon so I'll get the 9700k, thank you!

If you plan to stream, pay the extra $100 for a 9900k

Currently the 9700k is not a good price to performance

Oh! and i found that video, that you should definitely take a look.

I guess my assumption was correct about the i7-9700K, provided the results are valid.

So I've watched the video and I can see that there isn't a lot of fps difference, but the price difference in my country between the 8700k and the 9700k, is so small so I will be getting the 9700k for sure! Thanks! :D

You're welcome :)

So I've watched the video and I can see that there isn't a lot of fps difference

Have you noticed the white streaming bar?

On some games the difference is substantial.
