Question for setting up PWM fans on Case

I have 2 "Be quiet," 140mm PWN fans in the front of case for intake. The top one I have set up in front of my Dark Rock pro 4 and the speed adjusts to CPU temp.

The bottom one is for the GPU. I was going to set it up with GPU temps but quickly noticed that motherboard only provides 2 options: I can set the fan curve to CPU temp or motherboard temp.

Question is: Any reason to set to motherboard temps?

If your motherboard is throttling from too high of a power draw it doesn't matter if your CPU is cool.
