Why are gsync monitors so unreliable?

I bought this: https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Predator-XB271HU-2560x1440-Display/dp/B0173PEX20/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1546015867&sr=8-3&keywords=acer+gsync

Need to send it in for firmware update because of screen glitching. A well known problem that I thought would have been fixed by now since it happened for years. I want to return it and go for another, but looks like ASUS is another lemon when you look at reviews that can have the same problems.

Don't get me wrong, monitor looks beautiful, and it would be hard for me to not go back to gsync, but at the premium price and the headaches that go with it, it's making me appreciate my good o'l ben q monitor so much more since it gave me zero issues for years: https://www.amazon.com/BenQ-Zowie-inch-Gaming-Monitor/dp/B01H5KKRLO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1546015898&sr=8-1&keywords=benq+1ms Plus the colors looked fabulous for being a TN panel.
