Need advice on a good x399 Motherboard

So my dad needs a new PC. The one he has now has an i7 2600 and a 1GB radeon blowerstyle videocard. Long story short: The PC is starting to show its age. On black Friday I saw a deal for a 1920X for only 390$ (actually its swiss franks but the exchange rate is roughly 1:1) after tax. With the 100$ gift card I got him a couple of months ago it cost only 290$ after tax. Since even consumer grade Intel CPUs are much more expensive (8700k cost 80$ more, 9700k cost 90$ more and the 9900K 140$ more). And a r7 2700X was only like 10-20 $ cheaper than the 1920X. Since the pricing for consumer parts are ****** up here in switzerland it was no-brainer. Why settle for less performance for the same or even higher amount of money? Now I need advice on the Motherboard. I was looking at the X399 Taichi. Is it a good motherboard or do you guys have other recommendations? Thanks in advance.

TL;DR Got a 1920X for 290$ (after tax) on a blackfriday deal. Need a Mobo for it. Is the x399 taichi any good or do ya have other recommendations?
