GTX 970 build with Ryzen 1600/X

Warpon

Brother upgrading his PC, and he uses it for PC gaming. He already has the GTX970, Be quiet! power supply and the ARCTIC - Freezer 13 cooler. Also he doesn't plan to overclock, is Ryzen 1600X the better option compared to the 1600 for not overclocking? My question is, are those parts compatible? Do they fit on the MOBO? Is the Power supply enough? What RAM should he use? Would be grateful for suggestions and opinions. Budget is up to 1000€. pcpartpicker

Edit: fixed link (how do I make the list appear below my post and not in a link?)

Well the x series of ryzen cpus are mainly for enthusiasts so a 1600 should be enough if he doesnt want to overclock. Also your brother might want to go with a bronze efficiency psu but the one he has is still 80+ efficiency so thats fine. For the 1600 maybe 3200 ram plus dual channel. Your brother has a b350 mobo so he is fine, it is compatible.

Thanks for the tipp, after some researching I found out that the G.Skill Flare are good for the Ryzen CPUs so put a 3200 one in.

The link is broken.

The 1600X offers a 0.4Ghz clock speed increase for about 30€ more. Unless you are trying to push higher frame rates, the 1600 is probably the better choice.

Found cheaper motherboard and RAM, (RAM is on the mobo's QVL as well.) Added a SSD:

I'll suggest another build as well, since intel CPU's do better with high refresh rates:

how do I make the list appear below my post and not in a link?

When you are looking at your part list, at the top there is a field called "Markup." Right beside that is a small PCPP logo, click on it and then copy the selected text and paste it into your post.
