I currently have a no-name membrane keyboard and a cheap Microsoft wireless mouse, and am looking for an upgrade.

For the keyboard I'd like something with short, crisp and (fairly) quiet keystrokes. I don't want a tenkeyless model, and macro keys would be a bonus but are by no means necessary. (I use a lot of keyboard shortcuts in PS and Maya) Back-lit would also be a plus, RGB is not necessary.

For the mouse i'd like something fast and light, and I don't want a free scrolling mouse wheel. I have no interest in RGB, though it wouldn't bother me. Bonus marks if its wireless, but I'll go for quality and performance before wireless capability.

I have a budget of $160 CAD, but I'm not really expecting to get both for that price so both budget and ideal suggestions are welcome.

Thanks!

For FPS games (first person shooter), choose a mouse which allows the sensitivity to be changed quickly and easily, not only to suit your playing style, but also to adapt to the game’s action. Nowadays, many gaming mouse have a “Sniper” button which decreases the mouse sensor’s resolution (in DPIs) when pressed in order to slow down the cursor’s movement and increase precision when aiming the rifle through a sniper scope. The ability to change the sensor’s resolution on the fly has become one of the key features of gaming mouse.

You should also be aware of the fact that certain gaming mouse such as the Logitech G302 Daedalus Prime or the Razer Naga Hex V2, have been specifically designed for fans of multiplayer online battle arenas (MOBA). This article is written in great detail, I learned a lot about FPS games mouse. You can also look at it. https://pc4u.org/best-gaming-mouse/
