More Storage with Optane or SSD ?

Hi all, what would be better/safer?

-A hard drive 3 TB with intel Optane (Seagate Barracuda 7200 rpm)

-500gb SSD from SamSung

Hi, can you explain to me what do you mean by "areb't limited to choosing intel"

Also, for fastest boot times, I would have to install software onto the ssd right?

Optane is an Intel exclusive. So if you don't choose Optane, as suggested by Cmdr__Tim, then you won't be stuck with Intel if you choose to move your SSD/HDD to a new platform.
