There isn't a thread for case fans, so this will go here, I guess

I'm trying to reuse an old cooler master HAF X case, and everything went fine until I realized that the case fans use a 3-pin connector rather than the slimmer 4-pin my motherboard accepts.

Does anyone know if there is a way to adapt/modify the fan connectors to fit? or is that just a bad idea in general.

My motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-Z170X gaming 7, if that helps.

Thanks in advance.

Ah, I'd guessed the extra pin was for LED control, but that makes sense.
