Hi lads,

I am just startiing to build my very first pc to play games at max/ ultra settiings. Please give me som opinions on my build:

CPU: Intel Core i5-6500 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor ($191.91 @ Jet)

Motherboard: MSI Z170 Krait Gaming ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($149.99 @ Amazon)

Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory ($92.99 @ Newegg)

Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($94.75 @ OutletPC)

Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 1070 8GB Video Card ($429.99 @ Newegg)

Case: Aerocool Aero-800 ATX Mid Tower Case ($50.00)

Power Supply: Corsair CX 500W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($108.98 @ OutletPC)

I am concern that the PSU is not enough for the system but it is free from my local retailer if i buy msi gtx 1070. Please also tell me if any parts wiill bottleneck the system. Thank you very much!

I would recommend getting an HDD for mass storage and changing your motherboard to a non-Z170 board, as your locked processor can't benefit from it. However, if you don't mind spending some more money, you can get the I5-6600k, which can overclock, but that would mean you would have to invest in a decent CPU cooler.

thanks for the reply! I am getting this board because of my local retailer promotion (buy this mobo and get one 8gb corsair ram for free). However, I would love to switch to another mobo! Can you please advise some decent one but still be good in around 1-2 years?

I would get a hard drive, aside from that theres not much I would recommend. Also, if the PSU is free and youre not overclocking, its fine, but if you have to pay for it, it's WAY overpriced.

Your psu will be sufficient, the build comes out to 309w. I recommend getting the LPX DDR4-3000 RAM as it is slightly cheaper and you can enable its faster speeds in the bios. Here is your build in list mode, with the 3000mhz RAM added.
