He's doing medium/heavy gaming.

His old PC is running Windows 7. He likes Windows 7 and would like to also run it on his new PC. Is there a way for us to transfer the OS from the old PC (all in one monitor chassis) to the SSD of the new PC?

You should have a sticker with the license-key on the PC or the DVD-case.

Just install Windows 7 and try to activate with that same key.

  • H170 MOBO isn't meant for overclocking, get a Z170

Like Splatterlord said, license transfer is easy. Migrating the whole disk is more difficult. There are tools to do it (retail-kit Intel SSDs come with one), but I usually don't bother. Reinstallation is usually easier unless you're doing a bunch of them. Perform a backup of user files to the WD Blue, and then restore from that once the new installation is done.

Echoing Splatterlord again, the Z170 version your chosen MB is essentially the same price. No reason not to go that route. I also approve of his/her suggested RAM.
