Topic

I caught myself juuuust starting to stray into an internal "humbug," and I thought a healthy response would be to create a positive thread. It could have been about anything, but I thought it'd be topical to make a parallel to this thread to shine a light on the better side of the internet.

What do you love to see in internet communities? It doesn't have to be PCPP by any means. What makes you happy or restores your faith in humanity?

When people attack the argument, not the person. Doing it the other way around never leads to anything good.

How we can discuss sensitive topics like religion without it turning into a **** show.

How we can do topics like Intel Vs. AMD and it not turn into a flame war.

Mazda Turbo snail vs. Master chief.

Still it ends up getting handled maturely and doesn't turn into insulting or anything.

People being respectful of others and aware of what they are saying.

There are a host of things I could list, but I'll just give one from a less common perspective (internet moderation). It always fills me with glee when people who are getting heated in an argument stop themselves from going over the line. Usually they either see each others' sides and come to an understanding, or they just say, "Hey we're getting too worked up - let's take a break."

When both parties in an argument truly do that, it's really heartwarming. Thanks to any and all of you who do that. And thanks to those of you who don't even let it get to a heated point while still maintaining good discussion.

How people can have mature arguments; not ******** at eachother and not having world war III happening online..

How friendships get created; I've met my 2 best friends on the internet, actually.

When someone is truly happy for the help you gave them; it's truly heartwarming.

When someone supports you with just the right meme.

I helped someone with a list and a few months later they added me on steam and they reminded me who they were and they had the pc built and I was so happy, even on their steam profile they had their pc spec's and it said a thank you to me :')

When someone supports you with just the right meme.

Tries really hard to find a gif or meme to support this post.
Fails.
Provides hamsters eating spaghetti instead.

What I love seeing is basically any community that isn't WCCFTech.

Kind, thoughtful people.

I'm pretty sure everyone here feels the same, but it's what I enjoy the most.

Agreed. +1

To add to this, specific to PCPP, when retailers and company reps are also involved in the community. Like the MSI, ASUS and SuperBiiz Reps for example. Very helpful indeed. :D

So far I've been staff 12 times on several things, Minecraft servers, forums, game sites and chat groups. On all of those things I felt like I got respected the most because I actually interacted with the community there.

Charmin 1 point 33 months ago

This one for sure +1
