While you don't explicitly declare support for ECC RAM on your X99-A motherboard, the X99 chipset itself does support ECC. Can ECC RAMs be used on an X99-A with full ECC capability?

No problem. Thanks for the view and support.

If Polaris GPUs wattage is low enough, can you guys make a design that has no 6 pin power plugs but recieves all its power through the PCIe Slot?

Will you guys make a budget "Gaming" Monitor ($100 price range?)

We can make a PCIe power connector free but have also found in some situations it is beneficial to keep the power connector as it allows for more margin ( not only for overclocking but also Turbo clock speeds ).

As for budget monitors we already have very aggressively priced VN and VX monitors which are popular with gamers due to their low response times. As for higher refresh rates or technologies like FreeSync we are continuing to look at how we can offer more products. With this in mind it is difficult as many of these gamer centric technologies bring more cost ( and complexity ) to the designs.

There is the ASUS VX238H, its one of the top monitors in Pcpartpicker's list. Its 130$ but includes a $20 rebate totaling the price to 110$. Its a 1080p, 1ms, 60hz monitor. Has a nice profile and seems really good for its price.

Yuck. I don't want a 6 pin sticking out of my motherboard. :D

A $100 gaming monitor is going to be IDENTICAL to every other monitor out there except for maybe a 1ms responce time instead of 2-5ms.

I think you misunderstood him. The left portion of a PCI-e slot is dedicated to power, and anything on the right of the divider is for data. That is why the 6 and 8 pin plugs are called supplementary power.

That's like asking Audi to make a budget car but has the features from the top of the range S4.

Phones do that all the time.

A monitor isn't a phone though is it? Not to sound rude but again just like @bobtherock pointed out, it won't happen sorry. Well a budget monitor might happen but not with top of the line specs ;)

Will the x99-m WS have support for the new broadwell-e processors? As of now, BIOS updates have been released for all x99 motherboards except the WS line.

  • 1 point

Stay tuned for future updates. We will continue to offer UEFI support for the current line of X99 WS motherboards.

Any estimated date for this? Just wonder if I am going to after to wait months after the new 2011-3 CPU comes out just for the bios update? Think I'd just rather switch motherboards but I'd rather avoid it if I can, I really like my X99-m WS.

Do you guys have plans for the Asus Rampage V Black Edition (Or Assembly, or whatever you guys plan on calling it)? Because I am stoked for Broadwell-E and I know you guys, based on your release history, have released a Black Edition for the X58 and X79 sockets when Westmere-EP and Ivy Bridge-E was released back in 2010 and 2013 respectively.

So I wonder if you guys are planning on doing a Black Edition motherboard for the Rampage V. If so, I'm in for one 9_9

when will Asus release the GTX1080 and 1070 in Strix and ROG coolers?

and hints for possible GTX1080Ti?

would like to see a full EATX X99 board which supports 4 way SLi with triple slots GPU configs

most of the board out there have wasted PCI-E slots when a 2 slot wide cards block the neighboring PCI-E slot and also limit air flow between them.

Any plans for a Asus external DAC like the Essence ver 4?

As of right now thee is no confirmed release date for non reference designs for the GTX 1080 or 1070

As for a 4 WAY enabled X99 board currently we offer the X99-E WS and RAMPAGE V EXTREME. As for supporting triple slot 4 way configurations this is not currently being designed for. Currently we see that most 4 way enabled system focus on 2 slot cards ( blower based ) or utilize waterblocks.

Currently the highest end Essence is the Essence III. As for possible new Essence products it is a possibility but there are no immediate plans to release a new Essence product.

A few thoughts. Aftermarket coolers tend to come out within a month of the card launch. NDA for a possible 1080 ti hasn't been lifted. Adding more space for graphics cards would mean you'd want an XL-ATX board, not necessarily E-ATX.

Can you give us more info about your XG Rog Station 2?

Not at this time. Stay tuned for more information soon. We are still under the design and development stages along with careful validation.

Are there any restrictions with the new boards in regards to 3-way SLI and M.2. I recently bought a X99 Pro only to find out that one of the PCI-E slots is disabled when using an M.2 drive. :(

Any board specifically you are interested in? Restrictions depending on the board and the type of controllers used and number of quick switches as well as the CPU being used and the number of lanes it enables.

  • 1 point

Sorry, was looking for your reply on Twitter. :) I'm especially interested in the Deluxe II or the Strix. CPU is a 5930K or 6950x, so at least 40 lanes.

Is it possible to get SVN (Smart Volume Normalization) with onboard sound? Love this feature on my Essence STX!

Thanks for the feedback. This is definitely something we can discuss with our team. There are multiple ways to implement that affect cost or licensing. Beyond that we want to ensure if added that a reasonable amount of the community feels it adds value and is something they would utilize.

Just wanted to say... now that I've had some quality time with it, I've been loving my PB287Q monitor.

It definitely strokes the right "PC Master Race" chords. :D

Any X99 motherboards under $250 coming out with AURA?

  • 1 point

Quick question for JJ, and this is kinda one that is difficult to answer, but I noticed that the reviews on the maximus viii hero on Newegg doesn't have that great ratings, I was wondering why? BTW I'm in Canada.

Cannot comment on future AMD motherboard products. With that noted you can see AURA and RGB lighting is a continued focus for us and this will be considered for any new mid range and higher motherboards.

As for a MATRIX edition Pascal card I cannot confirm if a MATRIX card will be released but we will be offering non reference designs.
