Description

This is my first PC build. I have been wanting to build my own PC for a few years, but I was the last of my friends to actually do it. I did my research and found the best deals for all of these parts. The total spent is actually $1500, as I found great deals on almost everything.

Haven't overclocked the 8600k yet, but I'm sure this thing can OC pretty well with the Dark Rock 3 I have. I'll have to do some more research on other builds that used this combo and what they can put out. I got the GPU in a package deal with the PSU for $460 total. It's a DT model, but I honestly don't think it will affect anything that much. For the case I was initially looking at getting the H500i from NZXT, but I ended up going with the Corsair 275R and I love it. The only gripe I have with it is that the front case LED blinks when it's in sleep mode, I wish it would just turn off. When I overclock in the future, I might get some more case fans as well. Right now I only have one intake and one exhaust. I also got the monitor for $380 + tax, a great deal for 1440p 144hz G-sync.

Very happy I finally built this. Comment any questions you may have!

Nice! How do you like that Dell 1440p 144hz?

It's a great monitor! It had a slight color band issue out of the box, but after calibration it's looks fantastic. I wish it had integrated speakers though.

How did you calibrate your monitor?

https://www.reddit.com/r/Monitors/comments/7fer65/perfect_settings_dell_s2716dg/ I used a little variation of these settings, plus I used the calibrate display control tool that's already in Windows. I have the A09 variation of this monitor, but I know some of the earlier ones have worse banding.

Honestly, unless he got it for a good price, then it is better to spend a tiny bit more for IPS, if it is for gaming, in which I would think it is or he wouldn't choose 144hz!
