Description

The Build is for my Work. I needed to Replace a 7 Year old Asus Laptop that had a Core Duo and Win Vista.

I am a little Nervous about Posting the Build here being that it is the smallest Build I have made for myself so Far. I have built in a Parvum S2.0 Before for my Little Brother (And Am still waiting for him to get me to rebuild it, I could Make it Look So Much Better) but The Build has impressed me with the Performance.

I have the 4690k OC to 4.4Ghz using 1.275Core V for 24/7 running at the Dealership. Max temps on stress test were 68C on the Cores after Running Realbench 2.4 for 15min/8gb of Ram. Honestly I think I could Push 4.5Ghz with a 1.3Core V but... Eh... 4.4ghz is running like a top.

I have the Aquaflow 400MPS Flow sensor Inbetween the outlet of the Rad and Inlet of the GPU, because I felt it was the best place for the Flow to Normalize and give a great reading of actual Flow. Having it after the Pump is no good, since that is the Most "Push" of the Pump.

The 780 EVGA Sc was purchased off of Ebay Used, because I am not gaming 100% of the Time, Also FrozenCpu had sent him an Extra EKWB 780 Original CSQ Waterblock that wasn't being put to use, so that saved me around 125$ there.

Most people use 2 x 240mm Rads in this case. I wanted to find out what I could do with one 240mm Radiator, so I ordered the Case full windowed from Caselabs in California so I could show Off the Insides on my Desk at work :)

Please Enjoy

Thanks a Ton Manirelli. The Curve there was a little easier than I though it would be. :)

I sense a new featured build on its way. This looks absolutely amazing. I wish I had the money to do watercooling the way it was meant to be done (like this).

Did you add the Mayhems Red after filling the loop with water?

I watched all of the videos on that youtube channel of yours and it gets more impressive every time. One question though, it might just be the video but the computer sounded like a jet, does it bother you?

  • 1 point

It must be the video, I hope yall don't think it's loud, Also the pump had a little air in it when I finally fixed the Fins of the EVO to help the flow and not prevent it. The Build is super quiet on my desk at work. I couldn't have it there if it was distracting to the customers I sell cars to.

Fantastic build!! You are a proof that pc building can sometimes come way to close to art!! By the way how is the noise level? I plan on watercooling my mini-itx rig and i think i will go with a single 240 for both gpu and cpu.

  • 1 point

Noise is Non-existant . I have it behind my monitor at work, and cannot hear a peep.

how did you remove the frosting from the ek products?

  • 1 point

I dismantled each block, then you sand with each grit of 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1500, 2000. After sanding with these I polish with Turtle wax Car Compound, and then come back after with Plastix to finalize the polish.

Also, what made you choose the 780? a little outdated for the price of the completed build, wouldn't you think? Couldn't you have survived putting an GTX 980 or something similar?

  • 2 points

I was able to pick up the 780 off of Ebay used for 275.00 and my brother (the one I built in the Parvum for) had an extra 780 Ek Block that was given to me for free. Total Cost was 275.00. If I would have gone with the 980 and waterblock it would have run me upwards of 700.00

Plus if the boss isn't around at work, I just play Civ V ;) I don't need a 980 at the dealership.

Haha. Thanks Geek. Building on the Mitx plat was a challenge to say the least. Although, the Space of the S3 helped tremendously with what the goal was, a Full loop and great performance! I needed the whole build to fit on my desk and not under it. I am glad you like the build and appreciate the kind kind words!
