Used to build PCs back when a 386 sold upwards of $4k. Fry’s and other shops in the valley would sell parts where you could build your own for half the cost. These days everything is plug and play and the options are endless which is nice.

Great build. Looks fantastic. I am in the middle of building a very similar rig. Only issue I am having is with the EVGA Z390 Dark board, looks like I got a defect. The board is not recognizing the bottom DIMM slot (DIMM1 CH-A). I have tried flashing the BIOS to latest, swapping out different brand of memory, adjusting memory timings & voltages, different PSU's, different i9's, even put out a support call to EVGA. Looks like my board is hosed. I love that Z390 Dark from EVGA, the BIOS is super slick loaded with every useful feature. I spent 2 days tinkering with that DIMM slot to get it working (20 years of computer building experience). Second time in my entire career I got a bad board, first one was also an EVGA board many years ago. Hope you have good luck with yours. Love the Lian-Li case as well. Looks nice and clean. Your son has a kick-*** rig.
Thanks for the comment, sorry to hear you’ve had problems with the Z-390 Dark. We picked board based on the extensive features and level of engineering, so far early test shows no issues. I’m not a gamer (coder by trade) but look forward to running benchmarks on the system. Will post more later once everything is dialed in.

Is that RAM really running at 4800 MHz (from setting Intel XMP in BIOS), could you give us a screenshot in Windows 10 from Task Manager?

Very stupid question, but is there only 1 run from the top rad to the reservoir or is the other rad port not in use I was looking at making a similar loop with the same reservoir but am very hesitant, thanks.
I'm still confused, you'd have water flowing from the res to the rad through the 1 run, how did he make the second run from the top rad to the side rad and back to the res? sorry if I'm making this more confusing than it should be I've never done a custom loop.
The run from the top radiator to the side radiator runs along the back of the top radiator with a hard line. It was tricky to get the pipe bend to be exact and there's barely enough room to fit the pipe. I added a rather bad photo to show the fitting on the top radiator. The side radiator then empties into the top of the reservoir. Hope that helps.
That looks rough, what tube size are you using? I just bought fittings for 12mm od a few hours ago so hopefully that works out well. Thanks for the clarification your build looks amazing.
Tubes are 16mm which made it tight. You should be fine with 12mm. The other tough part is getting the fittings on the side radiator to clear the top fan yet come down at the right angle. I’ll see if I can get some better shots. This was my first time build with a hard loop and was flying in the dark a bit, happy to provide whatever info is helpful.
