Description

This Pc was initially built without the Rx 570 in it. The 2200g did exceptionally well in the esports titles I wanted to play. A huge upgrade from my late 2016 laptop (from low to ultra quality settings). A little over a month into my build I came upon a OfferUp sale for the gigabyte RX 570 4GB. I had to drive quite a distance but it was worthwhile. Even with current sale prices I got my used 570 for half the cost. The prices for my parts include California state taxes. The reason for certain parts, mainly my CPU being so cheap in cost is that I used bing rewards to purchase $5 gift cards and accumulated $30 to use with my purchase. Even today I know the 2200g is sold for $80 at micro center.

To date: I want to upgrade but the current build meets my needs exceptionally well. I play Total War Warhammer 2 and Heroes of the Storm (the 2200g alone can handle this game with iGPU). I’m currently looking to add another 8gb of 2x4gb 2400mhz ram. I have considered 2x8gb Corsair lpx 3000-3200, but I’d also like to keep the “budget” nature of this first build.

5/3/19: I found a nice local deal for 16GB of Corsair LPX, so I upgraded the RAM. The speed is still at 2400mhz. Also, I stopped by my local target and purchased a can of compressed air. Removing the accumulated dust from the RX 570 dropped temps by about 3 degrees Celsius.

As of 6/6/19 a R5 1600 was added into the system and the 2200g was removed. May look into a better used GPU from Nvidia along with a new PSU.

Nice build. But you would get some extra fps with faster memory. I think If you are ready to upgrade a 2x8GB 3000 Mhz kit would make sense

Okay I’ll be giving a look into buying a 2x8gb instead of another 2x4gb. I’ve been wondering if the jump in MHz would be significant.

I’m going for a Corsair LPX in white that’s going for $87.99 currently on Amazon. It’s 3000mhz 2x8GB kit.

Looks like a solid build for the money, congrats. I'll have been a registered nurse for 1 year next month; I wish you well in your nursing endeavors!

Nice budget build man! Surprised to see that Vega 8 graphics can be so powerful considering it's integrated graphics. I'd sell the ram and go with a higher frequency kit. You can grab a nice 3000mhz 2x4 8gb kit for 50 bucks I think.

I was skeptical myself, but the little thing is great! Around January I decided to buy Total Warhammer and this was still with no GPU. I ran into some, “low memory” during some load windows but the game ran at medium settings with 30fps-40fps. The preset was high but I knew that wouldn’t hold. I have yet to OC any parts. I’ll definitely be looking To get a new kit of RAM. Gutted that 16gb now is so close to what i got the 8gb kit in September. Cheers.
