Description

This is my first PC build, so anything that sounds like it may be broken may have been my fault. Really, though, nothing was truly broken or incompatible, in fact, I know I messed some stuff up. Anyway, The PC works absolutely fantastic. Smooth as a hot knife through butter, and the lights are practically orgasmic. My favorite color is blue, as is quite obviously indicated by all of the blue parts I got. The case is a bit hard to build with, as it is quite cramped (but I have big hands and it was my first build). No problems other than me messing some stuff up, so, all in all, it's fantastic.

If you want to know what I messed up, I used the wrong screws with the CPU cooler and it was too tight around the CPU which prevented it from starting up somehow. I also completely messed up the Windows installation because it freezes after a couple minutes. I know what you're thinking: "Dude your CPU is overheating." Well, it isn't because I reapplied some good thermal paste when I replaced the screws and I've checked the CPU temperature. It's literally the Windows installation. Luckily, something happened and my computer decided to run the Windows on my old HDD, and it's running perfectly. Other than the fact that it tells me I'm still on an Alienware Aurora R4, it's perfect.

If I were to have any complaints here, it'd be against Gigabyte, or at least the shipping company, because my motherboard arrived bent in the top left corner, where the I/O ports are. I didn't send it back or anything as it works fine and I didn't need those ports anyway.

I would definitely recommend the Kraken X62 CPU Cooler because, with the CAM application, you can change the lights on it to whatever color you please. The case is also very, very nice.

So yeah! So far, everything is running perfectly. This build is quite expensive but I've convinced myself that it is a birthday present, even though I built this in March and my birthday is in June.

Why in the world did you get a 9590?

Because he wanted too, seriously people stop it, I've had it with these RYZEN comments, let the OP enjoy his build without you nitpicking.

FX 9590 hell yeah! The "Why's" will be strong with this one. I understand though. It will eat everything you throw at it.

FX 9590 paired with a GTX 1070? The 9590 was probably not a good choice for that high end of a Graphics card

This is pretty good for a first time build. I run a old stock FX-8350 with my RX 480 8GB and I can play any game under the sun on Max settings with my 34" 2560x1080p monitor so anyone giving you guff for the 9590 you should ignore. Sure there's "better" out there but the end product is a usable and enjoyable PC so you can be proud of this!! With RYZEN coming over the (raven) ridge this is running on older parts but they are quite serviceable and will continue to be for some time.

The 9590 may be old, but it's FAR from bad.

Remember this thing is over five years old. At the time a 250 Watt TDP wasn't uncommon. Your're comparing a brand new i3 to a 5+ year old chip. Of course the i3 will perform better in gaming, in rendering however, the 9590 wrecks it. 2 core 4 thread vs an 8 core 8 thread CPU the 8 core is gonna spank it every time. In rendering, the more cores/ threads the better, why do you think i7's are better than i5's in video rendering?

I agree is is at the top of that generation but for a first time build this is a definitely usable and enjoyable PC to be using especially if he is running 1080p it may not be great for 244-hrz or anything but very much a gaming machine especially with that 1070

Decent build, people will rag on ya about Ryzen, but they forget that these old FX CPUS weren't that bad, people get amnesia when new products come out and they start hating on the old ones. Don't pay them any mind, enjoy your build man +1 :D.

LatamirDigital is right, ignore the hate. The people who say that AM3+ is a bad choice because it's a dead platform are the same people who look at an Intel LGA 1156 build and say what a great retro build they made. You did a good job. +1

tbh I'm scared for your computer, if it was me I would grab the 1070 and x62 and run before it explodes.

it's ok i don't have the 9590 holy **** everybody is angry at me because i chose a working processor that gets a little too hot

I wasn't talking about the 9590. Btw your freeze ups could have been caused by that ssd, my brother has the 240 gig and has the same issue (although it cleared up by itself more or less) however my grandmother has the 120 gig and that never freezes soooooo...

:) ya I have to say , 9590 was a bad choice as most fx 8320 will hit 4.7 but if you love It, your happy, then nice build! I like the novelty of the build anyways!

Ya amd crapped on making the 9370 and 9590, I had a 8320 that would do 5ghz but 4.5ghz offered the same perf so I left it at that. Solid gpu for what it was but it choked a good gpu at 1080p. :) I only paid 20$ for it after selling my gold 955 BE that ran at 4.3 ghz. The 955 destroyed the fx 8320 on single core too lol

A celeron is just. no, a 9590 is dated. but still very playable, it's far from bad, so stop treating it like it is. People always seem to do that to old hardware when new hardware comes out, It's stupid on so many levels.

As someone who personally had one before I upgraded to a i5-6600K, I personally(my opinion) find the processor too power consuming and a very bad overclocker.

lol i was a kid and i was like, "wow aliens lol it's obviously amazing cause aliens." and i didnt get a ryzen cause i built this before ryzen came out and didn't feel like spending all that money on just the cpu, especially on my first build.
