Description

Several months to complete this build! I have another build that I kept tearing down and, adding new parts to. I finally decided to just build this computer and put my other computer back the way I originally built it with a 6600K , Asus z170-A MOBO, EVGA 1060 SSC GPU all crammed into a NZXT S340 case. Now I have a streaming pc. So, This is technically my second completed build. All the parts are excellent! I had no problems getting them into Corsair 460x RGB case. I'm not saying that my 1st build wasn't great. It's just that I really was blown away when I pushed the start button on this 2nd computer and all those RGB lights turned on. It was just like all the youtube videos I watched in awe of. Hats off to all of the tech channels and content creators not to mention the sponsors that make it all possible.

you should manually set the price of your GPU in your parts list, I really hope you didn't pay $1249 for a 1080ti, it's really skewing the price of the build

Your right! My bad! But if you care to look again it reset by itself.

hmm strange. maybe try saving it on the actual parts list, and then on the build? I haven't done it myself for a long time

I manually saved it... But, for some reason it's not showing up. Your right though I only gave $799 +tax for it. I tried to use it with my 6600k but, my CPU was maxed at 100% usage on most games. So, the next week I bought the Asus Strix Z270e MOBO and the 7700k.

solid choice. I have a de-lidded 8700k sitting on my desk, waiting to be installed, but my 7700k is still installed in my system, it is one badass chip, especially when overclocked.

I thought the 8700k would only work with the z370 chipset or, did they update the z270 boards. I would like to have 6 cores and 12 threads. Maybe, CannonLake or wait and see what 2019 has to offer. 10nm processors are supposed to be releasing.

Beautiful build m8! What kind of splitter cable you use for gpu? You have only one cable instead of 2?

LICKLIGHTER submitter 1 Build 1 point 8 months ago

I used one of the 6+2 + 6+2 VGA cables that came with the PSU. I was curious about it to and, tested the voltage with the cable I have installed against 2 separate VGA cables. There was no difference in voltage or performance.
