I use this machine for gaming and I am absolutely loving it!!! Big step up from a 60 fps cap on a laptop :D The build / Bios took me about three LONG days and a lot of headaches due to me figuring stuff out on my own and learned lessons that I WILL NEVER FORGET!!! IE: Only have one drive connected "the one you want to be the OS Boot manager" when installing your operating system! I had both my m.2 970 evo and my big pile of scrap Barracuda 3.5 Hard drive connected while installing Win. 10. Long story short... ish... my boot manager was the Barracuda and also had some windows files that loaded onto my m.2 ssd. Finally have the ssd as the boot manager and not sure how to wipe the Barracuda. Other than that, I had an absolute blast building this machine and will upgrade some things for sure in the future!
I am running a stock cooler with the Ryzen 2700X and will likely upgrade to a better blower in the near future. It runs a little warm but not too shabby at the moment. Figured I would give it a go since it came with the CPU. Love the RTX 2080 , getting 150+ FPS playing BO4 Blackout with no overclock performed. Temp is usually around high 60's to 70 Celsius while playing Black ops. In Bios, temp hovers right around 40-45 Celsius. I am sure many would say that is to warm! I run at 20 degrees Celsius ... yada yada. ANyways, thank you for the read and it was great to share a glimpse of my journey on my first PC build.
One last thing, BIG shout-out to PCpartpicker.com and the community here to help a zero feel like a hero and learn a thing or two before diving in this expensive hobby. Much appreciated for that !!! Peace!
Enjoying this CPU!!! It runs a bit warmer than I would like, at about 65-70 degrees Celsius under load but mostly because I am using stock cooler at the moment. I have not overclocked it and do not plan on doing so any time soon. Either way, I will be getting another air cooler and or making the jump to liquid cooled in the near future. Good investment overall!
Great board other than one gripe... The m.2 slot 1 had a stripped screw and I was unable to get it out of the mobo. It lives to fight another day. I just threw the 970 evo in slot_2. Other than that, the bios are fine and easy to find your way around.
It is RAM and once I selected the 3200 in Bios, it does what it is supposed to do. No gripes here. I bought the red version and it looks great in my eyes.
Extremely fast and I do not regret forking over the few extra bucks for the 1TB. Kind of wish I got the 2 TB :D
LOVE this card! No problems with it thus far. Have had it for just a few days but runs very smooth. While playing BO4 it gets me 150+ FPS and a temp of around 58 Celsius. Hovers around 28 Celsius idle.
Beautiful case and cable management for this 1st time builder was a breeze! I highly recommend it!! I am currently running an air system and will make the jump to liquid cooled soon.... which is what this case was made for in my opinion.
They blow the air... Wish I had gone with a little better quality of fans though. Not horrid for the price however :D
Once you go 2k ... You never go back. Love this monitor and the 165 hrtz refresh rate. Delicious!!!!! The 24 " is just right for me. I don't need a gigantic monitor, and the quality is top notch. The g-sync is also working out very well and have no regrets at this price point and level of quality.
