Description

This monster hails from a land known as....Newegg. My PC isn't the best, but it is the most alot of us will need. Ive seen builds that are 6k+ and they dont do more that this thing cant

-Minecraft 1700FPS

-League 170FPS

-1080P video render time on average 10min with a length of 10-15 minutes.

-Strain. Pandora on a live stream playing minecraft online with shades. 200FPS with the stream running on the other monitor

The only thing is you need to have a DVI monitor for the graphics card to actually have signal. HDMI or just Digitalvideo will not work because of how they made it. So the DV and HDMI are for other monitors. the main one will have to be DVI. I love this thing so much it out performs alot of PC's that its played with and its not as expensive. to get the alienware equivalent in performance you would be looking at an extra $1,200 because of how dell has payment plans. or upfront maybe an extra $600. All and all this PC to me looks like a sexy demon and performs like a beast in general. I overclocked it to 3.9GHz with no Issue.

Yes I understand I didnt get the PSU listed, and I understand that the GPU cable is just hanging. the power supply I have is the one I am getting in case It needs to be upgraded, and the GPU cable is because I never set it back after I fiddled with it trying to figure out why there was no video output.

Part Reviews

CPU

well worth it. was going to get the i7-4790k over this but I was trying to save a few bucks and to be honest, it was worth it. 1700FPS on minecraft, a very CPU heavy game.

Motherboard

Great build with and easy install. wish it would of come with a saze badge and a nicer port cover. but its not meant to be pretty in every way. but the white and black looks sexy with my green build

Video Card

Awesome card great FPS would of given 5 stars if DVI wasn't NEEDED for video output. but by far worth getting over the 970 for an extra $100

Case

beast case, good for modding. simple yet so awesome looking. it can fit in almost anywhere.

Keyboard

Love how I can have 4 layouts at once, with the colors were a little more vibrant, but they are bright if you hit the right note. Probably going to stick with steel series for keyboards from now on

Headphones

OH MY GOD I CAN HEAR JESUS. 7.1 audio is all i want now. I cant stand using ear buds because of crappy they sound compared to these. puts my old krakens to shame

Msi dragon logo is made by a guy on ebay he sells them for 6.99, I dont like the badge that comes with the G-Series and they didn't really match my build. the fans are brighter than most of the bigger name ones and i love it

What do you mean by "this card needs DVI to output video?" I just got this card and made my build and I am waiting for my monitor to come in. I've never heard that before so can you explain?

Here is the monitor I'm getting

there are 6 ports on the card. 2 dvi and 1 hdmi and 3 digital video. you need at least 1 dvi to use the hdmi and digital video. so say you want 2 monitors you need 1 DVI port filled to use any of the HDMI or DigitalVideo ports on the card. and it disabled the on board video on the motherboard. the card is amazing but the initial set up is a pain. it took me 4 hours doing everything I could think of and I finally bought a DVI converter and bam it worked. Your monitor has 1 DVI hook up so you Will be ok. Im using the AOC one as my main one and it is VGA so I need to have the VGA one Plugged into the DVI converter.

So if the monitor I'm getting has a DVI output, would that work?

Just bought this card, and its DisplayPort as a single connection worked out of box for me, when connecting to a Acer K242HQK. No configuration or additional cable necessary.

Need to connect the cable to the main DisplayPort output though, i.e. the DP right next to HDMI.

How good is the motherboard for overclocking?

It has overclocking In the bios. you can do the recommended or do it your own way. I got my I5 to 4.7Ghz with it but my cooling sucked so it crashed. my i5-4690k is at a stable 4.0 from the stock 3.5. But MSI has an entire line called M-Power I belive made for overclocking. but all and all this mobo is freaking awesome!
