Description

It's been around 4 years since my previous completed build (see https://pcpartpicker.com/b/bCCJ7P), and now it's time to retire the storm stryker build. It was a great build that ran smooth from boot, but the Gtx670 and the i5 was starting to show its limitations when trying to stream certain game i enjoy. It will now serve as spare computer for friends and family to play on when visiting.

On to the CUBE.

I went with the Corsair Air 740 because it had an oddly charming and unconventional look to it, like a deadly Borg Cube or something. The power supply and the drive bays all reside on the right partition of the cube. Makes for a really clean looking set up.

i7 -6700k for streaming and gaming at the same time.

Ram - is Corsair LED. I don't need 32gb, but figured hey why not.

Corsair h115i to keep the cpu frosty.

1080 Strix to match the Aura Mobo

Actual price closer to $1600 after rebates

Will update with more pictures soon.

Things on the way:

Corsair sp120 rgb Led Fans

Corsair Commander Mini

Power supply doesn't need to be that high, should be around 80+ bronze, and no higher than 80+ Silver.

What do you mean? There's absolutely nothing wrong with 80+ Gold. On a budget build, many go with 80+ Bronze for some cost savings, but when you have a higher budget there's no reason not to get a more efficient power supply, even 80+ Platinum or 80+ Titanium if you plan to keep your PC running for a longer period of time.

EVGA power supplies in general are also quite reliable, and 80+ Silver PSUs are somewhat hard to find.
