Description

This build is something that I have been anticipating for a long time. I am a college student who has a part time job at my university so I couldn't exactly afford the most expensive parts for this build. However I did a lot of research and read thousands of reviews it seems like to make sure I'm getting high quality parts for a cheaper price. I am coming from 10 years of straight console gaming on the Xbox 360 and Xbox One so this is a huge upgrade for me. I plan to use this PC mainly for gaming purposes (CS:GO, Fortnite, Apex Legends, Minecraft). Maybe I will use it to stream and edit too one day. I am extremely proud of the way this PC has turned out, considering the amount of time it took to actually build this thing was about 11 hours (mainly because I was very nervous and meticulous about plugging everything in correctly). The pictures I have taken of the rig aren't extremely good quality because they were taken on my iPhone 7, so I apologize for that.

I have only had the system up and running for about two days now and everything seems to be running smoothly. The CPU has only reached a max temperature of 40 degrees Celsius and the motherboard temp is slightly lower than that. I highly recommend using water cooling as opposed to air, it's a cleaner look aesthetically and also produces better results. Mine only has a one fan radiator which is enough for my rig in my opinion.

The fans I used were also a huge surprise to me considering they were only about $40 on amazon. I was expecting them to be very generic and just do basic functions. Boy was I wrong. These fans are insanely high quality for the price with LED's on both sides of the fans and 366 different modes to choose from with the convenience of having a controller. Very simple, very clean, I highly recommend these fans.

I hope you guys enjoy looking at my build. Please let me know if I need to add any more pictures or information.

P.S.- Huge shout out to Josh Santos (Highly_Motivated) for staying in a call with me on discord throughout the entire process and guiding me through the installations, couldn't have done it without his help so thank you times a million Josh.

Part Reviews

CPU

Has been superb so far. Very fast and reliable.

CPU Cooler

Beautiful water block and easy install. I recommend the single fan radiator.

Motherboard

BIOS are pretty simple to use and I have had no problems. There were bad reviews about this product but I have not run into any hiccups.

Memory

Very pretty lights and reliable at 3200 mhz.

Storage

It stores stuff, lots of stuff.

Video Card

Great design on the back plate and front LED lights look good as well. I get about 300 fps on low settings in fortnite so yeah it's pretty dang good.

Case

Easy to build in and aesthetically pleasing to top it all off.

Power Supply

Very good to work with, lots of sata and perif ports to plug up for extra RGB and what not.

Wireless Network Adapter

I didn't expect this to work very well, but I have better connection on this PC than I did on my Xbox so that's a plus. I would use ethernet but my University does not have ethernet ports in the apartments :(.

Keyboard

Nice RGB and mechanical keys. Can't go wrong for the price.

Mouse

I have to get a set DPI that I like but this mouse has a lot of buttons on the sides for prominent gaming performance. I actually got the HERO version which is like $10 more.

Headphones

Nice RGB and sound quality is awesome. Mic is a little sensitive.

Custom

Overall great desk, could use a little more support to counteract the slight wobble on the left side. You get what you pay for.

Custom

Nice aesthetic bonus to the build to get rid of those ugly black stock cables.

Custom

Riiiiiiick, the star of the show.

Custom

Very fast booting up to windows. By the way, do not buy windows for $100, that is such a scam. Just download it to a USB from the Microsoft website and boot your PC up using that method. It might take more time but it's better than getting robbed.

Custom

My favorite part of the build even though they were $35. There is RGB on both sides of the fan blades making them visible from the outside of the case as well. The colors are very full and you can adjust the brightness. Very simple installation and you even get a controller. I cannot stress enough how much I love these fans.

Didn't have any issues with extension cables and that PSU? EVGA told me I shouldn't use extension cables
