Description

This was my very first build that was quite the frustrating a fun time as a newbie.

Other than some AMD driver issues I have had a great time with this rig!

Part Reviews

CPU

Got this on release day and get a stable OC of 4.3. No complaints!

Video Card

Also got this GPU on release day and I regret it a little. The performance is great as I can play almost all titles on 1440p Ultra settings 144hz. But I wish I would have waited for the aftermarket cards instead of the blower style. I The stock fan settings wont go over 42% which the card is pretty quite at that mark but temps reach 85/90 degrees so I set a custom fan curve that ramps up to 80% fan utilization and its a dang jet engine.

Your idle temps are a bit high, especially for such a huge case and a Ryzen build, there is no information about your cooling solution so I would have a look at improving that. Tidy nice build, I'm glad you enjoyed the process.

Thank you! I published my build from my work PC and put the numbers in off my head. Just got home to check and CPU idle is 33.9 and GPU is 41!

What do you think about it now that you have had it a while? I'm thinking of building something almost exactly like it, what would you change?

The only things I'd really change is 1st the GPU. I love love love the 5700xt. But I have a reference blower style. I wish I would have waited a month or so for the after market versions as they are quieter. The other the thing that I am actually going to change soon is the CPU cooler. Don't get me wrong the Wraith Prism is just fine but it's a little noisy for my liking.
