Description

This machine is mainly for productivity, having to do with 3D modeling and rendering. This build was also created on a short time frame otherwise we would have went with a 2080 Ti. Besides that the budget was $4.5k and I dont think we would have pushed the price up higher even if we had room. The only other option was maybe looking into getting a Quadro but for the amount of cores and memory we really would have liked the price of the computer would double. Love the Corsair case, definitely a fantastic buy for the price and super easy to work with.

Part Reviews

CPU

A little pricey, but who can argue with that kind of performance....

CPU Cooler

the hoses are freaking huge. I highly recommend getting the pro instead. Still works great though.

Motherboard

The RGB lighting on the back is a bit weird. Besides that, i really like the overall look and feel of this board.

Storage

Good price and no problems

Storage

If you want to shell out money for a $ TB hard drive.... this is the way to go.

Video Card

Still waiting for RTX support. Lets see where this goes.

Case

Simple and exactly what i expect at this price range. Front airflow isn't huge, but I wasn't expecting it to be better. The tempered glass is a fantastic touch. Maybe would like it to have slightly less dark of a tint but I'm being picky.

CPU- “A little pricey.” The cpu alone is worth $500 more than my build.

Good build. Though I think you could have saved many dollars by going with Threadripper. But the i9 does perform great as well.

Great pc, I suggest putting the AIO on the front as the clean air with keep your temps low (if you do overclocked).

The build fits your room well! Only the mouse pad looks a bit ugly.

Have you considered threadripper 2 ?

YEs and even though the thread count is super high I'm still skeptical about the perfomance to price for most task. Both would be great for a build in this price range.

yes, though the thread count is high compatibility and being able to maximize the output was a concern for the use-case.

Hey, great work!

I'm planning on building the same kind of stuff. Could you tell me if a 280mm AIO would fit instead of your 240 one?

Thanks in advance :)

It probably would, I know they have the mounts for it. however i don't know if I would test that theory with anything other than a corsair product just to be safe.

High Budget, low time. Rushed systems aren't the best system yet this is still a really great build, wish I had that dough.

I was definitely prepared for a build like this for a couple months. We just didn't have the luxury to wait around for 2080 Ti availability to crop up, whether that was a week or eight. :(
