Description

I've been putting some parts aside to build this computer for a little while. Some key parts that I bought were because of the price and functionality, also color. This is really only for work (autocad land development) no real gaming going on but maybe in the future. I went cheap on some parts like memory and graphics card because I have no use for the top of the line components. Originally this was going to be a xeon 3.4ghz build but I found an i7 with some coupons for the same price ($249) from Jet.com they had a 15% off and the i7 was at $299. I have some el chepo cooler master fans that I bought from amazon for $12 they run full blast off of a fan hub connected to an SATA plug , they are quiet enough. The red led fan I paid $7 for it on amazon I think its a rosewill fluid bearing. I know these parts are not the best but I will upgrade the fans later when I have some money. I chose the water cooler because I like the block design and the color.

Part Reviews

CPU

I have it running at 4.7GHZ runs stable and super fast

CPU Cooler

This thing is awesome works great, its powerful, and the price is great I would take one star away for having not having an RGB light instead its RED but it matches and the block looks great.

Motherboard

Awesome price, awesome board

Storage

Stupid fast, had a hyper X that was total garbage

Video Card

If you are not in need of something for hardcore gaming this is perfect.

Case

This thing is a BEAST!!! You can add so many fans, you have room for everything you need and it runs super cool

Power Supply

Love it just wish the fan was a little quieter

Wireless Network Adapter

It needs better antennas, but the stability on it is fabulous.

Your memory should be in either two grey slots or two black slots on the motherboard for best performance. Great build!

Why is that? (I didn't know that, thanks.)

Your motherboard and chip support dual-channel memory, which means that they run in tandem. This essentially means that by putting the RAM in the same-color slots, you are increasing performance.

Your ram is not in dual channel mode and is slowing down your system. Switch them so that they are in the same color slots.

I think everybody has owned that cooler master 4-pack of fans at some point haha...when you're ready to spend a few bucks (or when they inevitable get too noisy to bear) I highly recommend cougar vortex and/or fractal's venturi fans (excellent, silent fans without spending $25 on Noctua). Enjoy!

Did the case come with fans, or did you buy those? I'm looking to acquire this case at some point. Thanks for all of the photos. :)
