Description

Summer renovations!

So, renovating this build to be watercooled and still house everything was a total pain. Had to mod the case a bit, Dremel some holes on the back to mount the res/pump. I poked a hole into a radiator, so I had to replace that. Also originally set the cards in the 2nd and 3rd x16 slots, making the second 980ti a glorified PhysX card until I redid the layout...

Decided to go with a second 980ti and wait for the next generation of graphics cards while gaming at 1080p or even 1440p as a future upgrade. Got the card at a great deal as well, and the waterblocks were great prices too! On top of the new card and the watercooling components, I also went with a good deal on 32gb of DDR$ 3200MHz ram.

This system will still be an all-in-one workstation/gaming rig/ 24-7 entertainment rig. Future upgrades would be an m.2 nVME storage unit when those lower in price and a G-sync 1440p monitor (these will probably happen when needed, very happy with performance right now and only half filled on my storage so far).

  • Edit 5/30/2016: I have sleeved the cables that are on the pump, and have put in cable combs to tidy up the cabling.
  • Edit 6/3/2016: Tidied up the loop with some 90 and 45-degree fittings, and sleeved the temperature gauge wire that reads the temperature of the coolant coming off the GPU blocks.

Motherboard is great! I honestly got it cause it was the only one with on-board wifi in an ATX size at the time. Looks good, stable, and has plenty of features that I have been using.

Thanks! I wanted it on the hard drive cage, but it ended up being too big of a res!

Yeah, Phanteks advertise the mounting position but forget to say how long a GPU it can support...lol

The last two pictures don't have the custom water cooling loop :(

Custom water cooling makes all builds look boss.

Awesome bit of kit there. Random question... Is it just 1m of added LED's in there or did you have to use the 2m kit?

2m :)

The Seventh Picture is the best picture. I won't do a Custom loop cause I know I'd screw up and ruin everything. and Then it would be a pain to remove parts, but I like it. I think you' might wanna get a bit heavier PSU, cause I don't like how close the PSU wattage is to the used wattage. But +1

PCPP adds about 100w to the estimated amount.

Really? Never knew that. I know it just says estimated, but just disregard that portion of the comment then, and Thanks!!

That right there is pretty sexy! I would maybe tighten up those pcie cables by pulling on them from the other side of the psu shroud.

Where did you get those 980 ti's for that price?

/r/Hardwareswap on reddit. Everyone is cashin in before that 1080 card hits yo. $450 is the new used price as of now, may go lower based on the 1070.

Hahaha, I have a black ribbon one installed. Not the brown/gold one. And I can't have much more, like a fancy bridge, or else there are clearance issues.
