This build was like 2 months in the making as the parts were entirely bought outside Qatar. yeahp i ordered all parts in Amazon.us, Amazon.uk and Newegg... especially the Motherboard as it was very difficult to acquire, but with luck... while i was on the freeway i had to stop cause the motherboard was in stock again in newegg. hahaha!
anyway. from the start i would like to build an RGB themed pc. Im more into itx/sff probably this is the 5th itx i built. so i patiently waited for Ryzen 7 to arrive. after research. only R7 1700 has the cooler with LED. regarding the rams, i was a bit skeptical in buying the Gskill Trident Z RGB. so i went for the Corsair RGB, yet during installation, i ran into problem which I cannot put the CPU cooler without touching the rams and good thing the Corsairs LED c9ver is removeable twmporarily it was ugly. For the GPU i was waiting for a White RX 580 to appear. i was eyeing for that Asus RX 480 Dual Edition but in the end i bought the Sapphire RX 580 wanted to go for the Limited edition but it always go out of stock. the rest..
I chose the Raijintek Metis Plus case. as its cheap. and its made with aluminum, very small indeed. The videocard has like 0.5cm clearance against the wall of the case and i have to remove the front USB/IO connectors I also removed the HDD/SSD for more clearance. I used a Siilverstone SFF PSU adapter for the Corsair SF600. i had a hard time managing the cables as the stock cables though modular, its thick and hard to bend. So i bought some custom cable kit from cablemod.com.
I also fixed the orientation of the CPU cooler so it will be on the center top and while doing this I had the time to cut the side of the cooler to give clearance for the RAMS.
It was also a bit crowded to put a 2.5" hdd next to my ssd so i decided to stick it behind the PSU.
cable management was tricky. i had to tuck them behind the PSU some cables are also placed infront of the PSU fan intake. but its OK as my room is typically 18 to 20 celcius 24/7... yeahp.. my AC is always ON.
I also added a Corsair Lighting Node Pro and an HD120... too bad. I cant connect the HD120 to the led strip to control its rGB effects. but Iv already ordered another HD120 with controller... and yes another problem where to tuck in those extra cables and controllers.
overall. it was a good experience and it paid off. i will do some improvements with cable management.
-update - July 14, 2017- Corsair HD120 arrived. with the controller. Bad news... itx has only1 extra system fan header. no time to buy fan controller. ended up still putting the extra fan on top just for the RGB lighting. hahaha! and i cant get the Spectrum/Rainbow effect on the HD120 as i have to buy an expensive Commander Pro and fan LED header. wtf Corsair!
-update - July 19, 2017 - Package arrived from Banggood.com, my MotoSpeed K87s Blue Switch RGB bought around 56usd. but when i checked again, it was 46usd in GearBest wtf? anyway. still waiting for the White Chine made headphones which ive read have good reviews. well see when it arrives next week.
