Description

Built this so we could play games together. My goal was $500 which we got very close to, minus the monitor. Power is comparable to my i7-2600k / GTX 560 build which is a couple years old now. Also threw in a couple extra fans I had lying around

She's mainly been playing Guild Wars 2 and this handles it well with most settings on high

First upgrade will be an aftermarket CPU cooler since this processor has so much room for overclocking

Oh man, how is that mobo doing? I put the 960 in a build for a friend and it did not do well at all. I have an AsRock Extreme4 in my rig and thought AsRock was awesome. I'm having mixed feeling about them now.

So far so good, it's been running for a few days with no issues. My first AsRock mobo so we'll see!

What are those 2 stickers and where did you get them from?

Did you had to have a BIOS update with that MOBO because it always says "Some AMD 970 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Vishera CPUs".

When cash flow permits I'm hoping to build my girlfriend a gaming rig too. I'm hoping to spend about the same but I already have a case and power supply.

Hey, i just bought these parts to make my PC.

Only the video card is different, my video card is GeForce GTX 550ti.

But a lot of people was saying to me, to change this Power Supply because ain't 80Plus. And they say, this Power Supply will burn my PC. Remember this isn't the 80Plus Bronze. It's another model.

So can i use this Power Supply? I don't have money to buy another. Do i have any risks with this?

1) I think it would have been better to get an R7 260x from Sapphire for your GPU. I know it's $110, but it's worth the extra $20 for the extra gig of VRAM and the performance boost. 2) The hard drive is also a bit small. 2TB is the real sweet spot for $/gb, at $70... but a Western Digital Blue 1TB is only $54.

Other than that, it's a great build.

Sorry if people got offended. Not trying to be a sexist. I just think it's different from the usual. I probably could have said that in a different way.
