Description

This system has been a work in progress for almost 4 years and will continue to be worked on.

It is a champ with all tasks despite the now aging skylake based cpu.

Could not resist the LL fans when they were unveiled and the 750D wears them proudly, still one of the best cases corsair have come up with imo despite lack of modern features like a psu shroud and tempered glass panels.

One thing I would recommend is that I would upgrade that CPU ASAP.

Hey thanks for the input but I gotta agree with ZipGun, the 6700k is still doing extremely well for tasks like gaming for me I'm glad I went with the i7 at the time as it's withstood the test of time much better than quadcore i5s. I only game at 1440p minimum too which makes the cpu even less relevant.

Saying that I do want to upgrade the CPU, but not necessarily because I need to, just because I'm an enthusiast and I want to. Waiting for Zen 2 to drop.

I think that the ASAP was pushing it. What I think I meant Is sometime soon. As games grow, they are going to need newer CPUs, so I think that it would be a great investment IMO.

Nice build. Did you get the 1080ti now? If so you should have gotten a 2080ti. Your next upgrades should be case cpu and if you want gpu.

even if he bought it now, he'd be only spending the 500-800$ on the 1080ti used market, rather than the 1200$ for 2080ti

but he prolly bought it before either way

Thanks, I got it before RTX. I'm waiting to see what Zen 2 brings before upgrading the CPU, haven't felt a need to upgrade yet.

Thanks man, unfortunately when I first put this together 4 years ago tempered glass wasn't a big thing. Everything has been incremental upgrades except the case, I haven't seen a modern one which I like enough to make a move over to glass.
