Description

UPDATE: Featured. This is actually a big deal for me and a big push forward I really need to keep going and modding everything with a passion! Big TY to this site. It's all about helping people out at the end of the day. That's awesome. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sitcjbb68uQ

UPDATE: My friend has it, and is she very happy. She's named named it Utena after one of her favorite anime heroes. I like the name : P

A much needed upgraded for my friend. More or less threw $300 at some leftover odds and ends and came up with this. I convinced her to let me go a lil over the top on the cosmetics and allowed me UBER cable management time. Kept it as clean and simple as I could. Hope she likes it.

So part choices came from what we had between a few friends.

brakedown: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R0YyBnMMv0s&t=5s Reveal: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OV-N1sC1TLU

Small list of case mods: Moved the middle drive cage to be reused as a cable shroud on the bottom of the case. mounted the ssd sideways on the side of the 5.25" bays got a bracket to put the 3.5" drive in a 5.25" slot to free up the middle cage. (now all sata power and drives are in one place. Happy cables)

Added white grippy handles (bolted in)

Lots of acrylic to hind cables, pcbs and such.

A lil stenciling and paint on the gpu and wifi back plates.

white LED fans White 24 pin and sata power

all in the add on's (including fans and cables) cost about $75 Ya that's about it. You don't need a fortune to have a sexy PC.

I hope this inspires more people to put some thought into how their PC looks. To me it's just part of what makes it special : P

This is truly a great example of what you can come up with dedication. I hope this is featured so that others can see that you really don't have to spend a fortune to create a very attractive build. I am sure your friend will be able to appreciate the work you put into this. Bravo, and best of luck!

As the owner of this PC, I can gladly say that I am totally in love with it. I haven't done a REAL stress test yet to see just how much it can do, but it's served me very well the last few days with basic gaming and Netflix-binges.

Couple of my favorite features: The LED fans are CRAZY bright. It literally lights up my whole room. The handles make carrying it around super easy - I wanted to be able to move it from place to place with relative ease and the handles make this possible. I still can't get over how QUIET it runs - my old rig was so loud compared to this. I'll look up the actual temps during different actions later, but my boyfriend and I played The Sims 3 for about 10+ hours straight with all the graphic settings turned up and the PC performed smoothly and quietly. Can't wait to see what it can do when I get WoW back up!

OllieManMan is not only my best friend, but a truly skilled PC enthusiast and his passion clearly shows in my PC. I'm thrilled with it. I cannot sing enough praises for him!!

OMG I'm totally floored. Featured build! I guess the extra work is paying off : )

Silly question, who decided feature build? Whoever it was ty for noticing my work I did here. Just got a text from the owner and she said she was gaming all night while it ran cool and quiet. Super stoked about this one. Thanks again!

Console killer!! Nice work. I was working on a similar build a while ago, but with a FX-4300. The board I had turned out to be dead, so I ended up parting it out. I appreciate any time someone can repurpose older hardware into a gaming PC that would spank any console. Very good cable management, and overall aesthetics.

+1 for being and awesome friend and building and beautiful PC!

Edit: Didn't realize the GPU didn't need a power cable lol. Regardless, your cable management is very nice.

It's easy to buy and build for some.... it's not that easy to create a work of art.....like I said the other day... It's not always about 1080's and 7700k's

Did that guy ever compliment your rig finally ;) Congratulations on the feature....you deserve it!!

This site isn't really for buying PCs. More for showing them off once built. But it is a great source for part lists. I sent you an email ( the one listed on your youtube) We can talk about a build for you that will power thru the kind of videos you want to do.

Great looking build, buddy! Love the white and the affordable mods. You've inspired me to look into modding my build a bit and make those cables less of an eyesore. Congrats on the feature!

Very nice I love the mods you've done. The back plates look incredible what materials were they made of and what did you use to keep them together with the gpu and wifi card?

Am I the only that thinks that the Kingston SSD looks like Drake?

  • 2 points

LOL the drake face.

Use used white acrylic with black spray paint. You could also just use clear acrylic and paint that white.

My back plate guru: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Lo8ZjtlciM

Just use double sided tape on a non conductive surface to mount it. They stay very well just with that.

  • 1 point

Impressive, great job!

How did you secure the acrylic backplate to your graphics card? It looks elevated.

  • 1 point

Where did you get that backplate from? It looks really good!

  • 2 points

watch this guy! I learned to make them from him. Great modder who keep the budget guys in mind in his videos.

One 12x12" piece of white acrylic did the whole job (4 pieces total)

That is a lot of left over parts. Pretty impressive for what could in a way be considered an upgrade. A whole lot neater than my case after I put a new PSU and GPU in it.

I love everything about this build. Budget with great performance, looks amazing, and modded! The way you mounted the SSD is perfect shows of the design. White sleeved cables really help clean up the build. The box you made to hide extra cables was absolutely genius! Love the build, keep up the great work brother!

Why ask something like that when the OP just spent hours building a beautifully modded PC?

The cheapest rx 470 I see on Newegg is $189.99 +$3.99 shipping, better card yes but not same price as a1050 ti. It's a nice build though huh?

and you need to stop picking through every 1050Ti build and questioning them. Maybe they just like Nvidia more?

No don't get me wrong.. I looked.. That's not in stock there and I looked on ebay, and Amazon too (was about $190+). Was curious about that card for a build I need to do. Looks like a good card u just happened to get a great price

Yup. One piece of white acrylic did the back of the gpu, wifi card, top of the PSU and side of the cable shroud. Pretty easy to cut once you get that hang of it. Just needs to be sanded after you snap it off.

yea if your going to score it you need a guide of some kind hard in place while you pull. Very easy to scratch. I had some angled pieces of aluminum i used as a rail.
