To first start off, all of this was purchased from Microcenter. I put all the prices I paid in store for, and I must say I got some sweet deals, even with having to pay sales tax. This is also my first PC build, I built this with my tech wizard of an uncle. Great experience, wanted to expand from PC gaming off of my Macbook :P So lets get into the parts I picked.
Intel Core i5-6600K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Wanted to grab a Intel Processor and thought why not grab a new Skylake i5. I did not overclock, but I figured why not get the extra 0.2GHz and have the option available if I needed it for the extra 20 bucks. Very power efficient and works very well.
Cooler Master Seidon 120V 86.2 CFM Liquid Got this as an early X-Mas gift from my uncle that helped me build the rig, keeps the CPU very cool. Will be able to support any overclocking of the CPU if I decide to use it also. Looks cool and setup a push/pull system with fans to accompany it.
Asus Z170-AR ATX LGA1151 Fantastic Motherboard with some cool bells and whistles at a lower price point. Had no issues with anything on it and very simple to understand. BIOS is beautiful and will make doing anything on it very easy.
Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2400 Have had no issues with them. Saved me some money, work as fine as Corsair Vengeance with a lower price tag. Probably will update to 16gigs soon.
Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Cheap. Holds a good amount of storage. It does what it does.
Zotac GeForce GTX 960 4GB Got it for $50 under the $250 price tag that was listed. Same price as an EVGA GTX 960 2GB. My uncle really likes Sapphires AMD cards and since Zotac is Sapphire for Nvidia I went for it.
NZXT S340 (White) ATX Mid Tower Sick economical case. Looks great with a good price tag. Easy to work with and makes cable management easy to do and to get the best airflow.
Corsair 600W ATX12V Had no issues with it. No biggy about it being Semi-Modular to Modular, because your gonna use the cables that are not modular anyway. Why pay more when it does not matter?
Microsoft Windows 10 Pro OEM (64-bit) Uncle had some spare keys, got to use them on windows 8.1 and upgraded to 10
Cooler Master SickleFlow 69.7 CFM 120mm x2 Nice cheap fans we picked up. Makes my build quiet . No complaints and installed fine.
I will add more pictures and update details later. Let me know what you guys think :D Thanks.
Really great CPU. Not the most economical but is fast at the base clock of 3.5GHz and you can always overclock.
Have no complaints, no need to maintain and you just really install. Keeps CPU (Intel Core i5 6600k) really cool. When gaming and streaming at the same time it keeps the CPU well under 60C.
Great motherboard at low price with a few nice features. BIOS is beautiful and easy to use. Manuals make everything a breeze and made building go faster. No complaints here.
DDR4 for my Skylake build, see no huge difference between this and Corsair Vengeance. If you need to save a couple bucks go with these.
It spins, it holds stuff. It works. I guess we can say it does what I ask and does what its supposed to do.
Cools itself great. Benchmarks high games @ 1080p with over 60fps. Would recommend.
Beautiful Simple Case. No DVD drive bay made windows install a pain (Dont ask how we did it, you do not want to ever do it how we did it) but overall looks great and is basically a dumbed down version of the H440.
Semi-Modularity is no biggy, as you use the non-modular cables anyway. It works. Thats really all I can say.
