It will do the job well.

Only recommendation is getting a FirePro or Quadro board instead of your current video card. They have some that are perfect for multi monitor setups.

They're also more expensive then his entire build

I got a question. I am doing a dual monitor setup with my incoming build, is a R9 270 a good choice?

If gaming on only one, it's completely fine. I don't recommend gaming on two either, because the center is in the middle. If you just have internet or something going on at the other monitor, then it's completely fine.

Yeah i am not going to game on both. I'm not ready for that lol. Just game on one and twitch.tv on another or youtube

What if I used an r7 265 or a 750TI?

It would be just fine. Just a bit less performance. Although if your CPU has integrated graphics then just connect your secondary monitor to that. Otherwise it will take a bit off your performance.

That will certainly do the job; it's a lot of motherboard though for a non-overclocked CPU. A basic H81 or B85 chipset board would have performed just as well and saved about $100.

Thanks for the tip! I will be building a few more of these machines, so this is really helpful.
