Description

so this project started when I picked up a dudes build feature Corsair carbide air 540 and an asus rampage V edition 10 for a good price and sold my old rig. Then I started building around the motherboard. I never had the funds to put into aesthetics of a build so decided to go for it. First tried to find a new case. Knew I wanted glass. Originally wanted 3 or more panels including left and right side to showcase cable management. But once I saw the Lian Li Dynamic. It was love at first sight! Pre ordered it in white and it arrived 3 weeks later. Next I tried planning the black and white balance as the plan was a white case featuring mostly black RGB internals.

Sold EVGA 1070 and bought the Asus Strix 1080. Very satisfied with the card so far. Goes well with the ROG Asus theme.

Went with 6 Enermax RGB fans as exhaust and 3 Lian Li bora lite as intake. Was able to achieve positive pressure still

STILL WORKING WITH ENERMAX TO GET FANS WORKING AS INTENDED! Waited 1.5 weeks for a new control box since the fans would only work thru power switch and the remote doesn’t work at all. They insisted it was likely control box or IR sensor. Suprise suprise Remote still doesn’t do anything! Waiting to hear back again on how long to get a remote -_- just want them to sync with mobo as advertised but only way to do that is with remote!!! Great fans, but I just wish they worked as advertised out the box.

EDIT: got the remote finally enermax support kinda disappointed me. not the worst but between what i would consider a blunder by support and their standard shipping times the 3 week time frame on getting the remote replaced seemed very avoidable. first they insisted it was the control box and just sent me that. Did not work. did not get that decision especially since i mentioned to them that i did not want to waste time getting it working and was pretty sure the remote was to blame. should have sent both since i am sure these remotes are WAY cheaper than the box and all associated wires O_o

Swapped out 32gb Corsair led DDR4 ram for 32gb quad channel kit of gskill RGB ram running at 3000mhz

One day hope to add a custom loop with translucent coolant.

What do you guys think? Would a different fan config look bette rya think?

Here’s a video of the aura music visualization. I’ll update with a better video once the Enermax fans are working like they’re supposed to :)

UPDATE: another clip showing rock preset after all parts are synced to AURA! enjoy! one day ill edit together some sort of montage why not?

Part Reviews

Case

Excellent case, incredible value! And the customer service is top notch. Had a minor scratch on the piece of glass below the film on arrival. Nothing too big but they sent me a replacement right away. This is a big deal to me considering how adamant I was about keeping the glass scratch free, good to see a company standing by its product. RMA was fast and simple in my opinion 5 stars!

That's a really fun looking build you have... I bet you just stare at it for hours in aww

Beautiful fans... This case looks like a dream case for watercooling huh!! Maybe in the future ;)

Oh yeah! I had a blast putting it together, and I have actually caught myself listening to music and just staring a few times lol.

Thanks!

I think it would look good With some pipes that will pick up or reflect the lights. Thinking of translucent white coolant/tubing or maybe chrome looking tubes.

Yeah something to think about in the future... Some uv coolant maybe would go great with the fans

Nice build! I have The Dynamic case ordered from Newegg but it won’t be here for a couple weeks yet....longest wait ever!!! How do you like the Bora Lite fans? I have been considering them for my Dynamic when it arrives, maybe 6 of them at first. How do you have them hooked up, a 3-way splitter that goes into the MB?

Your lucky just to get it ordered, iv'e been waiting to order one since they came out and newegg still doesn't have any instock :(

I ordered mine from Newegg on May 4 and it still hasn't shipped yet. You should have a chance to order it on June 15, that's when they're supposed to be in stock again on Newegg. If something happens and I don't get my case around then I will probably blow a gasket lol.

Good to hear i called and all they could tell me was they ordered 250 but they wouldn't tell me when i could order one.

Good choice of case! It’s very striking in person.

They come with a little 7 fan hub actually. I have one fan directly wired to mobo and others ran to splitter. All hooked up to the cpu headers though haha. I really like them. They have a very good look and I don’t think the lighting is too overwhelming. If I had to complain I’d say That some of the RGB can look a little less saturated compared to other components due to the white diffusion material used in the blades that almost all light passes through. It makes up for it though with the smooth spread throughout the fan. It’s a similar effect to the Corsair LL series.

The RGB is 4 pin and daisy chainable.

Thanks for the compliments!

i gave each one its own header actually. two are hooked up to the cpu header right now so i can boot LOL. i really like the fans though and wish i had gotten more!!

i like the name. btw i'm thinking of building a system in the same case, what fan configuration do you suggest and what temperature you getting?

  • 2 points

I suggest 6 intake. 3 exhaust or 3 intake 3 exhaust if you leave the side mount fans off. Temps are good but I would steer clear of the enermax fans for anything other than looks. They have to be up pretty loud to get air through my radiator so on lowest speed cpu temps get up to mid 70s with the overclock on under load. Fans up higher it’s much better but for sound there is better options (also I like to keep the exhaust fans low and intake high so I can maintain positive pressure despite having 3 intake and 6 exhaust. Really depends on your components and other configurations on how you’ll want your fans.

So intake from top and bottom and then exhast out the side?

  • 1 point

No, 3 intake side, 3 intake bottom, 3 exhaust on top. If you get the vertical GPU riser which I recommend, you can only fit 2 fans on the bottom. My 120mm slim Noctua fans cost more than the case!

ive seen one guy get good results like that and while a top intake could be considered odd it does help get positive pressure. i have Bottom intake top and side exhaust so i have to keep the exhaust on nearly lowest setting to maintain positive pressure. i run them higher for bench marking or stress tests however. the only reason i went for this setup over what you said is so i could have the enermax fans on top facing down. the front of them is the best looking side so it was mostly an aesthetic choice. if it wasnt for the enermax fans i would probably go for side and bottom intake and top exhaust just so i could keep the hot air from the radiator out of the case while not fighting the hot airs natural tendency to rise. sorry for the late reply! i hope this helps!

so you must use the remote to sync the fans to the mobo?? whatheck?

  • 1 point

also, how well have the fans held up over time? I've heard some bad things about them rattling and ceasing to work after some time, and I'm considering to get the Enermax Liqfusion that ships with these fans for the rad

  • 1 point

oh about them holding up seems great so far, but i have had them less than a month! ill be sure to update over time however. they are a good value so i expect some shortcomings. mine may not wear as fast as i keep them on a very low speed unless i am testing for max OC

RIGHT? they coulda put it in the reset switch cycle at least.....yes the remote FINALLY got here. had a bad experience with ENERMAX. although the service itself wasn't too bad. especially when i called i think the rep just made a mistake in not sending me a remote originally then 2nd shipment got delayed. I WAS SO LIVID. part of me wants to return them but it is a very good product for the money and i actually really like having the remote. the controller also has 2 more RGB connections to allow more the option to be controlled with remote. using this with the mobo you can get more specific combos if you wire them certain ways which i like!! i give them 2 stars for service but would still recommend the product lol just good to know their shipping is not especially fast...

Nice build! Didn't know 6800k was x99

Possible improvement: use all the same fans, so the colors look the same
