Description

08-26-2016 Just completed the build and installing drivers, software, upgrades. The system was very easy to configure. The Asus Z-170A MOBO has exceeded my expectations. This Mobo has great instructions and many features to streamline the build with minimum errors. The graphics card is quiet and looks amazing in the case. Between the Mobo and graphics card there are lots of presets and options to make OC a breeze and control fan speeds to manage temperatures. The case is good, but I do wish I would have purchased a more recent case with a windowed panel and cover around the PSU. On a positive note the case moves air well and makes cable management very easy.

Now, I want to address the lack of Drive Space and the overkill on the PSU. I will be adding more Drive space at a later date and running a RAID configuration. I'm still researching my options. The PSU was about 10-20$ more than the 750, logically I found value in purchasing the 850 and having room to upgrade comfortably.

I cant change the name of the build so.... It's "budget" build relative to our budget of $1500. This build was a collaboration between my step-son and myself. This was a way to get him hands-on with a computer build. We choose a $1500 budget due to research showing the most value in this range IMO. I matched what he was willing to spend on the build, thus "Budget".

Budget doesn't imply low cost. This is a good ~1,400$ budget build.

I was going to says something about the case and power supply but I read the description and you covered it. The 1070 is a very capable card at 1440p so I hope that you or your step son intends to make use of that. Nice work.
